Dr. Li was very informative of the procedure and how my surgery would be different than someone else who had not already had bariatric surgery. She had me do a thorough panel of pre op tests to be prepared for the big day. Everyone in the office is very friendly and helpful. Dr. Li has been great throughout this whole process.

Dr. Li is a very compassionate person. I think she gives great care with a hug! She is very busy and it may take her a minute to get caught up during your appointment, but will still give you the attention you require. Dr. Li has a pleasant demeanor until you do not drink your required fluids. ShernOffice Staff:rnTammy is always smiling and treats everyone really well!rnrnThere is a very structured pre and post op eating plan that must be followed for success. rnrnDuring my pre-op appointment, Dr. Li discussed all of the risks for surgery. rnrnI am very satisfied with my care and would recommend Dr. Li to anyone looking for a competent compassionate surgeon.rn

I felt completely comfortable with Dr. Li from day one. She is a warm and very caring physician who hugs her patients at each appt which certainly makes me feel accepted and cared for. Dr. Li explains everything very completely and draws diagrams to help you understand what will be happening. she also tells you the risks and possible negative outcomes and is very upfront and honest. I asked her the day before my surgery if she ever gets scared thinking about the enormous responsibilty she undertakes with each patient. her reply was \" she considers it a great honor to be trusted with our safety and wellbeing\" Dr Li is a 10 plus plus in my bookrnrnHer bed side manner is awesom she came to see me right before surgery, hugged me ans said \" I am going to take very good care of you\" I sailed thru surgery with out any problems rnI honestly cannot think of any thing negative about my expereince with Dr Li.., I do feel that some of the clerical staff in her office have unprofessional attitudes when you call in , never identifying their selves and almost sounding annoyed that i am calling but it did not deter me from going forward.

I am 2 weeks out of WLS, I chose VSG, and I am extremely happy with my decision. A Bariatric surgeon is really like no other surgeon, and I spent a long time gathering information. In my opinion, besides being a skilled surgeon, your Bariatric Dr. is your partner, your shrink, and your biggest cheerleader. Personally, I found one Dr. that filled these shoes, Dr. Christina Li, at Sinai Hospital. Ten min. into your consult she makes you feel so comfortable, and as you sit there you feel like you are the only patient that she has.She is a no drama partner, you do your part, and she does hers. It really all boils down to trust, and that is so important in the life changing journey that you are about to start. My surgery was a breeze, honestly I wouldn't even believe I had it,but I have the scars to prove it!Like any good leader, she has surrounded herself with a fantastic, caring staff. Now,for the real factor in my decision making, NO ONE GIVES HUGS LIKE DR. LI. BEST IN BALTIMORE!

Dr. Li performed my RNY bypass on Tuesday, February 17, 2009.rnrnFrom the very beginning, Dr. Li and her associates make you feel comfortable. You get lots of important information from them. The dietician, Nancy Lum, is incredibly helpful and very responsive. If you follow everything she and Dr. Li tells you, you should be fine.rnrnDr. Li has a good grip on the technology of WLS. She has a great bedside manner and actually cares about her patients, she gives you a hug at the end of your appointment. I'm not a statistic to her, I am a person to her. She has a great sense of humor which put me at ease when I made the decision to have the WLS. I cannot say enough about the way she handled things on the day of surgery. She was reassuring, but she doesn't candy-coat anything. This surgery is a lot of work on the part of the patient and she expects you to work on this.rnrnDuring my surgery, she made sure that my incredible wife was kept up to date of my progress. My wife was very grateful to the constant communication regarding my procedure.rnrnDr. Li showed up at my room twice in the just-over-1-day I was in the hospital. I'm positive that my stay in the hospital was so short because of Dr. Li's skill at the procedure.rnrnI would highly recommend Dr. Li, I don't know how anyone could have done a better job. I was having no pain 2 days post-op and was moving around at regular speed on the 3rd day post-op.

I went to a seminar in Salisbury, MD., where I am from. I listened as the doctor \"sold\" himself as to his greatness in surgery. Then he hit us with an extra $2,500 for his health club services, due upon signing. When I checked into his background I found mistakes, deaths, bands slipping, etc.rnThat took me running to my computer. rnAfter weeks of searching I found Dr. Li. I checked out everything.(She is worth my 3 hour drive one way)rnAt first meeting I was hooked. She knew what she was doing, had the game plan all set out. Any problem was quickly fixed. Her team, Nancy Lum, the nurse that sets up your surgery, to the sweet,(very thin!) nurse that takes your weight, are wonderful.rnThe day of surgery Dr. Li inspired calmness and showed empathy to my nervous hubby.rnThe whole surgical team were caring, funny and I felt they cared for me, the person. I never felt like a number.rnAftercare; my hope for you is to have the pleasure of having Patrick as your nurse! He sat with me, answered questions, was quick with pain med's. Truly this has been an experience I will treasure as I begin my new healthy lifestyle. And thank you for fixing my H/Hernia. You took away years of pain for me. Thank you Dr. Li!rnTracy Vickers-Fields

I am a little over a week post op. Dr. Li is someone who makes you feel, from the instant you meet her, that this journey is one you are on with her. She always gives you a big hug and tells you both the good things you are doing and the bad things you are doing. The staff is always friendly and encouraging. Sometimes you have to wait longer than your appointment time, but once you get into the nutriontist or Dr. Li's office you feel like you are the only person on their schedule. They always answer all of your questions and make sure you understand them. You are able to email the nutrionist with questions all the time and she typically answers within 24 hours. All of the nutritional information is a little confusing at first, but they take the time to make sure you understand it before you have the surgery. As a nurse, I researched several hospitals and several plans before I finally decided to do this 7 years later because I wanted to do it at the right place. I am sure I made the right decision.

I am 5 days post op and can't say enough good things about Dr. Li. Her and the office staff has made the beginning part of the journey very smooth. They handle all of the insurance drama, and provide referrals for all pre op testing necessary. They also stay up on what pre op test results are missing and what is needed before surgery. My surgery was one that surprised Dr. Li, I was actually in surgery for about 6 hours and due to a fatty blob on my intestines that had blood vessels running through it, she could not route the intestine the normal way. She took extra care and caution to make sure everything would work the same as all of the other bypass patients. I was her first case that she encountered like this and she had the knowledge to handle the issue. She made sure that my family was well informed through out the surgery and afterward when she went into the waiting room to inform them of how things went. She is so warm and caring but she doesn't have a problem stressing the importance of what she asks of you either. She just doesn't tell you to do something, she explains why she needs you to do it. Dr. Li feels more like a friend to me than my doctor. She just makes you feel so comfortable about the whole process and especially before surgery in pre-op. She gave me a big hug and told me she would take good care of me and she did, even with the small complication. I live about 1 1/2 hours from Baltimore, so I travel a little distance but it is well worth it. There are other bariatric programs closer that do not have a nutritionist on staff and are not as thorough. I would recommend Dr. Li and her staff to anyone, even if it was a further distance than I travel, everyone in that office is so nice and helpful and just makes you feel very comfortable when you are beginning a life changing journey.

Dr. Li is really good about taking the time to make sure that you understand what the surgery will entail especially long term. She takes time with each patient and doesn't over book, so you don't wait forever.rnrnI was very impressed with Dr. Li's willingness to address the detailed questions that came from reading every medical article published in the last year right down to the size of the bouje (the sizing rod used to set the diameter of the pouch.) No question was too small or picky.rnrnThe members of the support staff in Dr. Li's practice are super. Some are post-surgery patients who know what we're going through, but all are very knowledgeable and supportive.rnrnPre-op and aftercare are well coordinated with the program's dietitian, Nancy Lum, who is a gem. Ms. Lum gives fast replies to e-mail and detailed pre-op training give lots of information for avoiding problems in the post-op period and making sure that nothing comes as a surprise. (If you've done your pre-op shopping, you're well prepared to handle things.)rnrnMy only problem was a slight post-op infection around day five. I had no problem reaching the on-call team member who routed me right back to the Sinai ER. Even though it was \"one of those nights,\" when patients not in crisis have to wait a while, I was well monitored and certainly not in any danger or discomfort. All of my care was well handled. Aside from that, I have not had any problems at all.rnrnMy husband and I have had several other surgeries with members of Sinai's Surgery Department and it is a wonderful talented group. rnrnWithout any hesitation, I highly recommend Dr. Li to anyone interested in bariatric surgery.
