My review is 5 stars excellent. From the first time I walked in the door to the last visit I have had with Dr Adeyeri everything has been great. The front desk staff is great Mara knows your name is wonderful to deal with very professional and on top of everything. I had my surgery done on Dec 16th 2013 I had the complete bypass everything was just great. I think anyone who is even considering this should see Dr Aderyeri he takes his time and is very patient. Again Hospital was great, staff great and Dr great thank you for the start of my life back.
Dr. Adeyeri did my VSG surgery at the beginning of December 2013. He is very thorough and takes his time discussing the pros & cons of the various types of WLS. His office staff was very helpful, friendly and always available for questions. Dr. Adeyeri asked me on several occasions if there was any "room for improvement" in his processes/procedures during the pre-certification/surgery journey and he seemed genuinely interested in my response (although my suggestions were minor). He strongly encourages participation in the group sessions before AND after surgery. I found the pre-surgery quiz I was given to be slightly comical but after I "aced" it, I realized that people must not really do their homework about what to expect/do during and after surgery. I did not feel rushed during any of my consultation visits with him. I felt well informed and comfortable to ask any questions I might have.
I was referred to Dr. Adeyeri by family members who also had WLS in the last year or two so he came highly recommended. My mother had the RNY performed by a different surgeon (one based in Princeton) in 2000. I had consulted with mom's doctor 9 years ago and he was very much a narcissist who seemed very impatient for any questions. My insurance company refused to cover the surgery so our relationship ended there. Thankfully insurance requirements have changed alot in the last 9 years BUT there was no way, I was going to go back to that doctor so I was VERY happy to have been introduced to Dr. Adeyeri!!!
Although I went for most of my pre-surgery visits in Dr. Adeyeri's Freehold offices, I had my surgery performed at Raritan Bay in Old Bridge. Never having been to this particular hospital prior to my pre-admission testing (PAT), I was pleasantly surprised. The PAT process was the best I had ever experienced. I had a checklist and was escorted through/to the various stations which was helpful since I was in unfamiliar territory. I was shown a video/slideshow by his bariatric nurse which I found to be quite informative and was offered a tour of the hospital at the end of the PAT. After surgery, I had a private room and was able to recover with relative peace & quiet.
I just started my 4th post-op week yesterday and have had no complications from surgery. My recovery time has been quicker than expected and I credit Dr. Adeyeri & his staff for preparing me as well as they did. I am looking forward to losing the excess weight and beginning the next, healthier phase of my life.
I had gastric by-pass surgery the first week of December 2013. I met with Dr Adeyeri in August 2013 and immediately felt comfortable and confident that he was the surgeon for me. I had done a great amount of research and attended other seminars prior to meeting with him. Dr. Adeyeri and his entire team -- office professionals, dietians, nurse navigator and nurses were all wonderful !!! Dr. Adeyeri was never too busy to answer any questions. He is a gifted surgeon who truly cares about his patients pre- and post-surgery. Along with being a terrific surgeon, Dr. Adeyeri is a wonderful communicator -- he explains everything to you.
If you are considering bariatric surgery, attend his seminar and make an appointment to meet with him.
Prior to my visit to Dr. Adeyeri, I was extremely hesitant to have this surgery even though my doctors having been urging me for 10 years to have the Bypass Surgery. After my initial visit with Dr. Adeyeri and reviewing my options, he made me feel very comfortable and convinced me that the surgery was in my best interest. After going through the process of preparing for the surgery and knowing that Dr. Adeyeri was supporting me all the way, I feel that I made the right decision to have the Bypass surgery and have it performed by Dr. Adeyeri. After having the surgery, there were no complications and I was up and walking the same night with no pain and a week later I am feeling 100% better with a weight loss of 37lbs.
I give Dr. Adeyeri "Five Big Ups".
The first thing you notice about Dr. Adeyeri is his good sense of humor and willingness to discuss all your questions. On the day of surgery all that changes. I noticed the Dr. spending time for a last thorough review of my file before the surgery. I was confident that nothing was being missed or overlooked. In other words, he knew the time and place for levity and seriousness. Melissa has been a constant support with email throughout the entire process. I am confident that I found the best surgeon and hospital for this procedure.
I am a nurse and we all know we are the worst patients and the most critical.
I met Dr. Adeyeri as a member of our medical staff a few years prior to having my surgery. Even before being his patient my impression of him was that he was always professional, knowledgeable, confident and a true gentleman.
I came to him after my own research and was the "well prepared" patient. I realized there was still so much to learn and understand about gastric surgery. From the first appointment Dr. Adeyeri was excellent, always willing to answer questions and explain anything that I asked. He was honest and upfront with his responses. He has developed an excellent program for pre and post surgery. He makes sure his patients are both knowledgeable and prepared. The seminar and support group (which I thought would be a waste for a nurse) proved to be so valuble to me. He doesn't believe in the notion, of most surgeons, in that you had surgery and you are good to go. He has a great aftercare program and makes sure patients follow up. He actually attends support group and will answer questions when needed.
His office staff is fabulous. Mara is so sweet and compassionate she never makes you feel like you are a bother. She follows up with you through out the whole process so things don't get missed or you get lost. She is a God send to him and his patients. Kristin the dietician was excellent, she reviewed the diet and expectations. She was always available to ask questions to. Maureen the nurse was wonderful, understanding, compassionate and knowledgeable. She never judges you or your questions. She takes as much time as you need to make you feel comfortable. I see her at the support group and she stays for hours after if needed to makes sure she answers patients questions.
Dr. Adeyeri is clearly a highly skilled surgeon that coupled with his bedside manner makes him a great practitioner. He is always pleasant and upbeat when you see him, can put you at ease with his humor and make you comfortable and confident by his sheer wealth of skill and knowledge.
Rating Dr. Adeyeri seems like a difficult task, see I don't think a ten is enough. He is truly a wonderful man and outstanding surgeon. I could not have made a better choice and would recommend him even more.
I had a gastric sleeve (VSG) done on 10/30/13 and it was an overwhelming wonderful experience. I can't say thank you enough to Dr. Adeyeri and all his staff. I feel like I have been given a gift to make the rest of my life better and healthy than what it has been. Gerri

From the first consult appointment with Dr Adeyeri to present my experience has been wonderful. His office staff is more then helpful with any and all questions from insurance to why does this protein powder taste so bad. I had my PAT's done at RBMC and was given a tour and explanation of what to expect. My day of surgery everything went as planned. I spent a few days at the hospital and can not beleive how compassionate and caring each and every person who came into contact with me was, from the person who delivered my tray to the person who was doing maintenance. There are no words to describe the care from the nursing staff, AWESOME! And then there is Dr Adeyeri, never rushes , makes sure I understand everything thats going on, always has time for questions. And on the day he discharged me (a saturday, he said,"call me if you need anything", Now thats a dedicated physician caring for his patient. Overall Dr Adeyeri and his team go above and beyond in so many ways! Thank You ! Special kudos to Mara and Melissa (office staff) Samantha, Sue Maureen at RBMC! Jack M.
I had my by-pass surgery on Oct 3,2013 and I have nothing but praise for Dr. Adeyeri and his staff. He is very caring and always took as much time as needed with me. When I was discharged from the hospital he told me to call him if I had any concerns or questions "I would not be bothering him" That statement meant so much to me. From my first appointment to post op appointments, the entire process is so well organized.
I had Gastric Bypass on September 25, 2013. Dr. Adeyeri was great through the entire proccess. He was always willing to take the time to answer all of my questions and concerns and made sure I fully understood the procedure I was having. His office staff is always helpful and friendly. I was more than happy with my decision to go with him and would highly recommend him to anyone considering surgery.
I had my surgery Sept 26, 2013 and to date I am extremely happy with my decision.
Dr. Adeyeri and his staff are amazing. They are extremely informative and took the time I needed for all my questions.
