Dr. Moazzez is very good in the two most important ways to me. First, he has the knowledge and the skills. He's a good surgeon who has had a lot of success with the type of surgery I wanted, and he is able to help patients understand what's involved and make the decisions we need to make. Second, he treats patients with respect and kindness. Overall, I was looking for a doctor who knows what he's doing *and* whom I felt I could trust to take my care seriously. I'm glad I chose Dr. Moazzez; he did my surgery and my husbands, and I feel that we've both been in good hands.rnrnDr. Moazzez also has a knowledgeable and thorough team of nurses, nutritionists, and specialists (such as gastroenterologists) with whom he has a working relationship. Some are in his office (Metro Bariatrics), and some are part of the larger Bariatric Center of Excellence with which he works at Inova Fair Oaks Hospital. Together, they provide a lot of help and guidance. His office team really knows what they 're doing, whether it's scheduling and getting results from needed tests and consultations or helping a patient negotiate the wild world of insurance. rnrnThe wider program offers resources from nutrition classes to support groups to exercise classes specially designed for WLS patients. Some of these are optional, and some are required by Dr. Moazzez before he will perform a surgery. I admire that stance, and am grateful for the diligence with which the team made sure I knew what decisions I needed to make, what I was getting into, what I needed to do to prepare for success, and whom I can call with question later. rnrnI've heard too many stories of people who've undergone surgery without all of this support and knowledge, and suffered for it. It shouldn't be that way. I'm glad I chose the surgeon and program I did, and I'd recommend them to anyone. rnrnNegatives? None with Dr. Moazzez and his team. I could pick a nit or two with the informational program -- maybe the content is not as well-organized as it could be, maybe it could be clearer in places, and so forth -- but overall it is very good. The hospital's after-care was less consistent, and there are some negatives in my review of it. Again, though, I would recommend this program strongly.

I met Dr. Mo at the seminar, he explained to all who attended that the choice to have the surgery was not a easy way out and he talked about every aspect of WLS including the risks . I knew after the seminar that he was the right surgeon for me. Then , I had my first appt. with Dr. Moazzez on July 5th, he is so funny and his smile put me at ease completely. then he took the time to make sure I understood the difference between the types of WLS and every step I would need to take before surgery and why I needed to take them. The binder he gave me had all of the info. he went over in the seminar and more. The staff in his office are just great. Every time I called they were so accommodating. When I went to my pre-op appt. I was very nervous Dr. Mo put me at ease very quickly. I have completed confidence in him and his staff. I would recommend him to others seeking a wl surgeon.

What can I say about Dr. Moazzez that hasn't already been said?! This man is truly AMAZING! I first met Dr. Mo when I attended the WLS seminar. He was VERY informative and direct - which I loved. My first impression of him was pretty much the same as everyone.. he is very handsome AND he knows what he's doing. I had interviewed another surgeon prior to meeting with Dr. Mo, and I felt so uncomfortable with him. I got the feeling that he was more interested to the money he would be making rather than me as a patient. So needless to say, when I met Dr. Mo, I was looking for a Surgeon who was not only an expertise in the WLS field, but someone who was personal, down to earth and didn't mind taking the time to answer all of my questions. Dr. Moazzez is by far, all of those things and more. He makes sure that you fully understand all of the pre and post surgery requirements and changes that you will experience. In addition, his office staff is so professional and friendly. They truly make you feel 100% comfortable at all times. Another thing that I really like about Dr. Mo and his staff is that they offer a GREAT support staff post surgery as well. Dr. Mo came to the hospital every morning that I was there to check on me and make sure that I was comfortable. Hi first two questions every morning were \"how are you\" and \"Is there anything else that I can do for you to make you more comfortable?\" I appreciated that so very much. Everyone involved with Dr. Mo's team is awesome. I would definitely recommend him to anyone who is seriously interested in having WLS. Overall I would say that Dr. Moazzez is an Execellent Surgeon and you will not be disappointed.

My first impression of Dr. Moazzez was at a seminar for surgery at Fair Oaks Hospital. He walked in and gave the facts and didn't sugarcoat anything which was great! He was kind and answered everyone's questions, has a great sense of humor and is well educated.rnrnMy impression has not changed about Dr. Moazzez...he is well humored, laid back and knows his stuff. He doesn't mess around with making this surgery seem like a quick fix... and is serious about helping those he helps.rnrnDr. Moazzez staff is incredible! Pam is the queen of financing and insurance and just plain old knows how to make life easy for the patients. It was nice to see that they knew who I was after just one visit (and a bazillion phone calls) and they all worked effortlessly with me to make surgery happen.rnrnThe aftercare program is excellent. Fair Oaks hospital has their whole bariatric center put together beautifully. I didn't have one worry going in and although the initial two days were worse than I expected, everyone was right there with me to help out. I am looking forward to continued classes for nutrition, support. etc. rnrnRisks of surgery...there is a video that I was required to watch and after the video--at my pre-op appt...Dr. Moazzez went through everything all over again to make sure I was aware of all that could happen. He wanted to make sure that I was choosing this surgery wisely.rnrnI would recommend Dr. Moazzez to anyone. The staff, the hospital, Dr. Moazzez...I have nothing bad to say about the whole shebang! Thanks!

What can I say about my surgeon, Dr. Moazzez? Well, everyone already knows he's a hottie!! I'd KILL for those eyelashes! Personable? Very. Informative? Absolutely. Concerned? Definately? Do ya wanna cross him? Oh hell NO!! Made that mistake...won't do it again.rnrnDr. Moazzez has a genuine concern for his patients & his goal is our success & better health. I know this because he was not the first surgeon I turned to. I won't name any names but the one I saw prior to him saw me as a paycheck & nothing more. I was quite discouraged. Not discouraged enough to quit though because I'd done the research on lapband & truly believed it to be my best choice. I was actually referred to Dr. Mo through a therapist that I couldn't see cuz insurance wouldn't pay for him. From the moment I stepped into his office & was greeted by Pam, I knew I was in the right place. Instead of cold indifference (like I got at the other place), I was greeted with a warm smile & a cheery atmosphere. Because of some very significant comorbidities, Dr. Mo chose to take a much more precise approach to whether or not he would even agree to do the surgery at all. After all...he has a reputation to protect...hate to say the surgery was a succes but the patient died anyways...that would suck! So I had to jump through some extra hoops before he was satisfied that I would, indeed survive the surgery. That OTHER guy never even questioned it.rnrnI'm post op now...had my surgery July 16th, 2007. I've had to call in with some minor complaints twice so far. I couldn't believe it when the phone rang a couple of hours later & Dr. Mo, HIMSELF, was on the other end! I can't remember the last time I phoned in a complaint to ANY doctor & that doctor called me back personally. Usually I just get his assistant or nurse with a message. So his personal attention holds A LOT OF WATER with me!!!rnrnAll in all, this is truly a gifted human being that genuinely cares about his patients, has not problem adding a personal touch, and by God don't piss him off cuz he'll let ya have it! He's fair but precise. God loves you, Dr. Mo and so do I !!! rnrnrn

I first met Dr Moazzez at one of his seminars. He is very professional and sensitive about the subject. He is also very willing to answer questions and ensure all participants leave with the information they need.rnrnAt our individual consultation, we talked about the type of surgery that is right for me. We talked about everything I was going to need to do in preparation and he did a short physical exam. Overall, I was very happy with his manner and professionalism.rnrn

I first saw Dr. Moazzez at his seminar. I thought he was very nice and personable, as well as not too hard on the eyes. I sat on the front row, but didn't have many questions. I had done a ton of research and my older sister had bariatric surgery 4 years ago. So, I was there because I had to go. I had my first appointment with him a week or so later. I was totally floored when he walked in and said, \"Oh, yes, I remember seeing you at the seminar\" and he even remembered where I sat. Ok, the room was packed, so not like it was just me and a handful of other people. He even remembered my older sis. He didn't do her bypass, she lived in another state at that time. He had done a hernia repair on her. I want just half the memory he has. Anyway, he is totally nice and puts you at ease. He will spend that extra time with you to make sure you totally understand what is going on. My surgery is August 7th, so I'll have to post more after that. But, so far my experience with him and his staff has been nothing but superior. If you are looking for a surgeon in this are, you can't go wrong with Dr. Moazzez, his staff, and Fair Oaks hospital.
