Very Personable and patient physician. Office staff has been beyond helpful. Dr. Moazzez is very honest and straightforward, but eases your mind during the entire process!

Dr. Moazzez is an excellent surgeon and the office staff is top notch, especially Pam. At all appointments, both pre and post op, he was very personable and had plenty of time to explain and answer questions (my husband had A LOT of questions). I had the sleeve gastrectomy and a hiatal hernia repair, which was not known going into surgery. Going into my initial consultation I felt a little nervous because he had not performed as many sleeve operations as other bariatric procedures, but upon leaving that visit I was extremely confident regarding both his knowledge and skill to provide me with my surgery of choice.

Honestly, there is not a negative thing I have to say regarding my dealings with Dr. Moazzez or his staff, and I am a very critical person. The office staff was very helpful when I had problems with the hospital.

I am 11 days shy of being 3 months post-op and already have lost 61 lbs. with 39 lbs. left to go. I feel I owe this success to the education I received from Dr. Moazzez the office staff, nurse, and dietician. I am very confident that I picked the best surgery and best surgeon for me.

Dr. Moazzez's is very personable and professional, made sure I understood what he was discussing. My first inpression of him was at one of his seminar's and you could tell he was a busy man, but he presented the facts. My first appointment he was not rushed nor did he try to get on to the next appointment, he takes his time with you. His office staff is wonderful, they are very friendly and really set the tone for his office. He gave me a 2inch three ring binder at my first visit and we went over everything in detail. It contains checklists, required appointments and phone numbers, aftercare and the even NIV study on obesity! This book has been with me everyday and I use it as a reference tool and notebook. Dr. Moazzez came recommended to me by my Mother's friend who is one of his patients and he and his staff have lived up to everything she told me. I want a doctor who knows what he is doing and doesn't forget that we are people with feelings--not a time slot in his day. For me Dr. Moazzez fits this description to a \"t\"!

Dr Moazzez is amazing! Kind, compassionate, and dedicating to helping the obese become healthy. I can't say enough good things about him and the people that work in his practice!rnrnThere was a huge emphasis on aftercare, and a strong partnership with the team at Inova Fairfax Hospital. He went over the risks of surgery with me in great detail, and had me do a quiz to make sure I understood everything.

My doctor is the best. My first impression was: Ok, he is eye candy but does he know his business. He was in no rush when I had my one on one with him.....the morning of surgery, he came in joking putting me at ease, after surgery he came in joking about the fact that my \"by pass\" went great. That was a joke cause I had told him if I wake up with a bypass, him and I would have a serious problem. PLEASE DO NOT LET HIS NUMBERS fool you, I almost made that mistake, looking for a doctor who had a higher number listed, I am so glad that did not work out and I went with Dr. Moazzez. Two years later, I am still happy with my choice of surgeon...would not trade him for a bag of chips (smile)

I am still pre-op, but I like Dr. Mo and his staff so much so far I felt compelled to write something now....I'll come back again after my surgery too :)rnrnI first met Dr. Mo at one of his seminars. He had a fantastic presence about him, and a great sense of humor. He is one of those people that makes you feel instantly at ease around him.....which is NOT usually my experience with doctors. rnrnDuring the seminar he clearly demonstrated that he knows his stuff, and I'm the type of person who trusts my gut, and I just got a really good feeling from him. I felt like he wasn't just BSing, but that he genuinely thinks that his job is amazing. rnrnSo far I've met with him one other time. I did not feel like he was rushing me, or anything like that which was good. He asked me if I understood things and if I had questions...again...genuinely caring rnrnHis staff has been fantastic to work with. Pam is always prompt and usually I feel like I have to keep after people to make sure they REMEMBER to do things; but not with them. I call, they call me back; I ask for help, they provide it. I hope it continues like this. rnrnWe are shooting for my surgery to be at the end of February...so I'll post again after my surgery!!!

Ah man, Dr. Mo is the best. I really like him and feel is he truly invested in my health and well being. He has the best attitude and an amazing bedside manner. My first time meeting him was at his free seminar in January of 2008. It was very informative and he was nice enough to answer all the questions people asked. The next time I saw him was for my initial. He was running a little late and had a room full of patients so my time with him was quick, but I didn't feel rushed at all. Then I saw him at my pre-op which was 6 days before my surgery. He put all my fears to rest but didn't sugar coat anything and put the risks out there. Did I mention he has a great sense of humor? On the day of my surgery, he came into the prep area and talked to me and my mom. I had my arms just kinda laying awkwardly across my chest and he walked in and the first thing he said was...\"what... do you not know what to do with your arms??\" I was still getting used to the IV and that was making things a little awkward, lol. I was pretty nervous the morning of surgery and he came in and explained things to my mom and I and made me feel super comfortable. I was ready! The next morning he came to see me first thing, told me I looked good and that the next step was my upper GI. I found out when my parents got to the hospital the next day was that my prevacid wasn't covered the pharmacy said it could take 3 days before everything went through... Dr. Mo had it taken care of the same day! So needless to say, Dr. Mo is awesome and he comes highly recommended!!!

**Update 10/28/08**rnrnI can now honestly rate Dr Moazzez after having completed my 6months of preop (because of my insurance) and the surgery. He's great and I'm so glad that I picked him as my doctor. Again, his staff is just as great... they might be what gives him the excellence edge. Pam is the best and on it! Dr. Moazzez was there every morning sometimes before I was awake checking on me and letting me know my progress. He's fantabulous!rn---------rnrnDr. Moazzez seemed very knowledgable and personable. I had previously gone to visit Dr. Terracina but moved 3 hours away so I had to hunt for a new doctor. Dr. Terracina was great and his staff was ok, I did have some issues with call backs but I doubt he was aware of it. Anyway, Dr Moazzes staff so far have been extremely helpful. They're a pretty busy staff but I've never had problems with getting them to return my calls or answer my questions. Even when I came to an appointment late with out the paperwork they were polite and pleasant. rnrnFuture patients should know that there is not much interaction with Dr. Moazzez in the beginning but you do get to talk to Vonzie who is lovely and helpful. Dr. Moazzez make it clear during your first meeting with him that most of your interaction will be with his staff in the beginning. rnrnDr. Moazzez insist on aftercare infact the precare program seems to flow with the aftercare program and it seems very structured. I knew the risk of the surgery before I went to meet with Dr. Moazzez but he went over them again with me. I can't rate him just yet. I've only met with home once but he seems good so far.

Dr. Moazzez was very personable, and has a great, friendly personality. The office staff is absolutely PHENOMENAL! Pam went above and beyond to get me approved by the insurance and endured my phone calls with questions. The staff just can't be beat!! rnrnTheir aftercare program, I feel, is great. Unfortunately I won't be able to experience most of it, as I live in Michigan and traveled to Virginia just to have the surgery by Dr. Mo. Still, he has stressed the importance of eating correctly, follow up visits, bloodwork, etc. rnrnDr Mo's surgical competence and bedside manner are both great. He came and saw me the 2 days I was in the hospital and made sure to ask me if I had any issues or concerns.
