Doctor Aceves has been very good. So far I have nothing but praise for him. He is a kind, caring person who will do a good job. Going to Mexico for a major medical procedure was a bit nerve racking at first and all of my friends said that I was crazy but I can tell you with absolute certainty that the care I received was just as good as any American doctor or hospital would have given. He sometimes is a bit difficult to understand but he will go out of the way to make you understand what he is saying. His staff was great. All of his staff spoke english. He went into thorough details about the risks. His aftercare program is so far been good. You can call his office any time and they will help you immediately. His surgical competence and bedside manner are superior.
My first impression was that I could not believe I was actually considering going to Mexico for surgery. rnSan Diego is easy for me to fly in to, so that worked well. And I've met many people who are very impressed with him. rnHe is very realistic, and he lets patients know from the beginning that this is simply a tool and if a person does not adhere to lifestyle change and eating habits revision - that it is not going to do all the work for them. Aftercare is the key and he stresses this daily.rnHis bedside manner and his surgical competence in my opinion are both outstanding. I never would have had an equal level of care. rnI love Dr. Aceves.
Dr. Aceves is a little bit harder to understand than Dr. Campos is.rn rnVery talented surgeon, I have had very little to no pain at all!rnrnThey spoke often about aftercare and the fact that this IS A TOOL! Not a answer to all your prayers and you don't have to do nothing else. If it's to work, you have got to work it! The surgery is 30% and YOU ARE the other 70% in this weight loss journey.rnrnSurgical competence means more to me than bedside manner to some extent. I'd rather you not smile at all as long as you know what your doing, and can explain what your doing to me efficiantly. But I'm a nurse so, I am baised. But both docs had a good bedside manner in this case which is a plus.rnrnAll in all I believe the LORD led me here to Mexicali. I feel great, little to no pain, walking and now the next day I'm drinking! I'm hoping ketosis kicks in soon cause I sure would like to get this party started! LOL
Dr. Aceves must be extremely skilled. I had small incisions and so very little discomfort - no pain - and the easiest recovery. I was impressed by the hospital: clean, beautiful and the staff all very professional. saw Dr. Aceves and the two doctors he worked with several times a day and one was almost always available for questions. This was the least important fact to me, but Dr. Aceves has the most wonderful bedside manner, very warm and caring. There is not a structured aftercare program although I have had every e-mail question answered quickly, usually the same day. They are there to help, but you need to take responsibility for your aftercare and educated yourself on what you need to do.
Dr. Aceves is a very happy and caring person. He was always willing to explain everything and listen. The office staff and staff at the hospital were excellent. They were all very friendly and very helpful. What I didn't like was that the beds were hard and I could tell that Dr. Aceves smoked because the hospital was so clean and sterile that you could smell anything from outside the hospital. Dr. Aceves is a very careful surgeon. I had heart problems going in to the surgery so Dr. Aceves brought in a heart specialist just to be sure. He is a very careful person. I went to mexico by myself for my gasteric bypass and not once was I afraid abound the medical care I was receiving. Dr. Aceves explains after care and gives you paper work explaining some things when you leave. I'm 2 months post op and I am finding that I have some questions now and I'm not sure who to ask. I knew I had great risks going in because they were explained to me but it was all worth it, I have no regrets and I would definately give Dr. Aceves and the hospital Almater a 10. Dr. Aceves is a great surgeon and he has a great bedside maner too!!
I had a VSG on June 23/08. I am delighted with the results. Dr. Aceves and his staff can actually make having surgery a pleasure. Hard to believe, but true. Dr. Aceves is an artist with a scalpel and a compassionate and interested physician. Questions and concerns are fully addressed by the Dr. and his staff. The hospital is modern and clean, like a 5 star hotel. The nursing staff is caring and attentive. If this surgery was free in Canada, I would still go to Mexicali.
MY FIRDT IMPRESSION OF DR. ACEVES WAS AMAZAGING. A VERY INTELIGENT PERSON. NO ONE COULD HAVE BEEN MORE PERFERCT OF A PERSON LIKE HIM. WHEN I FIRST DECIDED TO HAVE THE SURGERY DONE IT WAS RENA WHO I SPOKE TO THE FIRST TIME THAT WORKS WITH HIM. SHE WAS LIKE IF I KNOWN HER MY WHOLE LIFE. SHE WAS A FRIEND AND EVERYTHING ELSE A PERSON COULD BE ON THE PHONE. SHE KNEW WHAT I WAS GOING THREW AND WAS THERE FOR ME TILL THE END OF SURGERY AND STILL IS. THE REST OF THE STAFF AT THE HOSPITAL WAS SO GOOD TO ME THEY TOOK CARE OF ME LIKE I WAS PART OF THIER FAMILY, TILL THE BEGINING TO THE END. I WOULD ADVISED FUTURE PATIENTS TO CHOICE DR. ACEVES FOR ANY KIND OF SURGERY THE CHOSE TO HAVE .HE ALSO HAD TWO OTHER DOCTORS THAT WAS ALWAYS ON DUTY. AND THEY WERE THE BEST ALSO. AFTER THE SURGERY THEY STAYED BY MY SIDE TO MAKE SURE I WAS OK. I BEEN IN HOSPITALS MANY TIMES AND THERE IS NOT ENOUGH WORDS I CAN SAY ABOUT DR. ACEVES AND HIS STAFF. I HAVE NEVER BEEN TREATED AS A PERSON THAT MEANS SOMETHING TO THEM IN MY WHOLE LIFE, AND IM 50 YEARS OLD. AFTER SURGERY THE DOCTORS CAME IN AND REVEIWED WHAT I HAD TO KMOW WHAT I COULD AND COULD NOT HAVE AND THE COMPLICATIONS OF THE SURGERY. A NUTRITION CAME IN AND GAVE ME PAPERS TO REVIEW WHAT I COULD HAVE FOR A LENTH OF PERIOD. I ASKED QUESTIONS AND SHE ANSWERD VERLY CLEARLY WHAT I NEEDED TO KNOW. THERE IS NO NUMBERS HIGHT ENOUGH TO RATE DR. ACEVES. JUST KNOWING WHO HE IS AND THE MIRACELS HE DOES FOR OTHERS LIKE ME, HE IS ONE OF A KIND. IF I HAD TO DO IT OVER, HE WOULD BE THE ONE I WOULD ALWAYS GO TO. NOTHING OR NOE ONE WOULD EVER CHANGE MY MIND.
