My first impression of Dr. Wood was very good. Although he was a few minutes late getting to the office he did call to advise he was on his way he had been in surgery. If you ask me that is an okay reason to be late, because if that was me on the table I'd rather he take his time with me too. The staff at his office is great! My patient rep is a young lady by the name of Tina and she is wonderful. I am sure in the last two weeks I have called her thirty times. She has been really great at answering questions and following up with me.
Dr. Wood is extremely thorough during his consultation. He discusses everything that will happen from now until after the surgery. He truly emphasizes how important we are in our own recovery. How and what should be eaten and to take it slow, don't try to push it. We discussed all of the risks to surgery and the possibilty of being affected by those complications. He covered what risk factors already in place could increase the risks of further complications.
Thus far I think he is great and based on my experience with him and his staff I would recommend him to anyone considering this surgery.
He is competent listened to what I had to say. Never once even suggested a different surgery that what I had already decided was right for me.
His office staff are wonderful! ESP> Amy and Latrese :)
Just know that he is super busy!
Don't know to much about the aftercare...he did stress that he wants us to be lifelong patients...
I would rate him mighty high
Both his bedside manner and competence are great
Dr. Wood is one of the most humble doctors I've ever met. He really just wants to do these surgeries and not bask in the spotlight like so many other doctors do. He is very knowledgeable in this procedure (micropouch), and he made me feel so good about myself that it brought me to tears. His staff is very outgoing and attentive. I wish they had a little more information on sample menus after surgery. That was my only complaint (if you call it that). He told me right upfront of the risks and the lifestyle changes I will have to make. Dr. Wood had a great bedside manner and is very competent when it came to surgical procedure.
Surgeon is fine, easy to understand and takes time to explain and diagram things.
Turn-off was the CATTLE CALL to the office for the first "consultation". Was told to be there at 1, it "could take up to 2 hours". There was a waiting room full of prospective clients and those I spoke to thought they were here for an individual consult. After about 45 min. they(office staff) let us know Dr.Wood would be right in. He was, and went through the surgery, etc. with the group. This was fine, as we were all there for the same surgery. HOWEVER, we should have been told of this when making the appt. so we didn't feel like we were being "herded" through. This is strictly the office problem, Doc was fine.
There was an individual consult following with clients "taken in order that they came" which was actually 'taken in order the office staff put their charts together'.
I arrived at the office at 12:45 for the 1:00 "consult". I was seen individually at 4:45!!
Be prepared, bring a book (they have 5 magazines)or something to read or do. Allow at LEAST 3 hours at the shortest.
Dr. Wood is worth the wait. Too bad the office can't get it together.
My first impression of Doctor Wood was very good and over time my impression of him has grown.
I gave him a hard way to go with complications that I developed after surgury. He assured me to trust him and he would get me through it (an he did).
His staff was very nice.
I can't say that I had anything about the doctor that I didn't like. He handles his patients with care. He really made me feel like I was in the best hands and was available whenever i needed him.
His patients should know that Dr. Wood is a great doctor. I have not heard one bad thing about him and I have been through alot with complication and he got me through it.
He greatly emphasizes after care and the program.
He addressed all the risks of the surgery right from day one. I was totally aware of all risks involved.
I rate him 100% as a surgeon. 100% as a caring doctor. 100% (The best in class).
He has a great bedside manner and the best in his field of surgury.
My first impression of Dr. Wood remains the same, he seems very kind, competent, and caring. He also seems a bit shy, which gives him a human touch. His staff, especially Amy, is great. My peeve with Dr. Wood and his office is that when I went for my initial consult before Thanksgiving, we were not told that as of January 2003, he would no longer be with the Liv-Lite Corp., but I'm over it. Other than that, I really can't come up with anything I dislike about him. He stresses aftercare big time, and he used to have a aftercare program, but since he broke away from Lite-Lite, I'm not sure what kind of program they'll have. That's something we'll have to discuss when I see him before my surgery. He was very thorough in addressing surgery risks, both at his seminar and his consultation. However, he also stresses what the risks are if we choose to remain MO. So far, I'd have to rate him a 10. For me, surgical competence is by far most important. The fact that Dr. Wood seems to have a wonderful bedside manner is definitely a bonus.
My first impression of Dr. Wood is that was very through My impressions of him have not changed. his office staff is excellent. In the beginning when I was bugggin them every minute, they were very patient with me. I don't have any complaints with the doctor or his staff. If I have a complaint it is with the discharge planning of the hospital. It could have been better. Future patients should know that he is meticilous and will take you through this slowly after the surgery. He emphasizes aftercare greatly and the program is very structured. He addresses all the risks of surgery with during your private consultation when he decides if surgery is right for you. My rating for this doctor is excellent. Both his surgical competence and his bedside manner is great. Dr Wood was recommended to me and I glad I waited 2 years until I could research and get everything in place.
