Obesity Control Center Bariatric Center
I just had my surgery this week. Dr. Ortiz and the whole staff were absoulty fantastic!! I would recommend anyone to Dr. Ortiz. The room was so relaxing and the hotel was really nice too. It was great because the hotel staff even knows what you can eat and what you can't eat. If I had to do it all over again, I would in a heart beat.
I checked into his credentials and knew several patients of his and others. I chose him because of the best results and recommendations from previous patients.rnHe treated me well but my personal contact with him was not anything outstanding. The medical staff was excellent. Dr. Romero does most of the after care and Dr. Acosta I can't say enough good about them. They have not done my aftercare because I do fills for FILLCENTERUSA here in Idaho. I have done my own adjustments so stay in the zone at all times. I have contacted OCC for guidance and they are always fabulous to help me. I have been back to Mexico with a patient and had excellent experience with her as well. The staff is professional and know what they are doing. I prefer them over surgeons and hospitals in Idaho for sure!
Dr. Ortiz is amazing, as are his staff members and the entire OCC (Obesity Control Center.) I would do my whole surgery over again with him. He is an American Society of Bariatric Surgeons (ASBS) certified and is an MD, FACS. I would recommend him to anyone considering lap banding. rnI was also pleased to find that the prices were EXACTLY what I was quoted with no \"hidden fees\" for pre-op testing, anesthetics, etc. and his bedside manner is absolutely warm, caring, and friendly.
I was banded on 4/11/08.rnMy entire surgery was paid for before I arrived, but I still had to put down a 500.00 dollar deposit, which I was told I would get back when I arrived on 4/11/08.rnThis is 5/5/08, I still have not received my refund, I have called and E-Mailed the center rnOn several occasions and I still dont have an answer as to where my money is.rnPlease be careful when going to Dr. Ortiz.rnThey take very good care of you in the beginning. Once they have their money and you have your surgery, they are pretty much done with you. There is no after care.rnOnce my surgery was complete I never saw a Dr. again.rnI had surgery Friday afternoon and was sent home Saturday morning, Never received a call a letter, Nothing.
Very Cute! Just like Dr. McSteamy on \"Grays Anatomy\"rnrnHe talked about what the procedure entails and what was going to happen afterward. While his assistant started my IV and administered medications.rnrnI have referred other friends to him and they have also loved it.rnrnYou do a full physical and labs in the office. You speak to a dietitian and a pulmonary physician pre-op.rnrnDr. Ortiz is a 10/10rnrn
I met Dr. Grossbard at his seminar. He was very informative as well as witty. He knew a lot about the Lapband and did not hesitate to provide the information to the potential patients. The staff have all been friendly when I call so I have no complaints. I wish the doctor would provide a step-by-step instruction sheet on the things to do next. I sent in my paper work, but I wasn't sure if I should do my pyschological evaluation or wait for my consult. I just want to have everything done so that I can move right along. Dr. Grossbard stresses the importance of getting a monthly follow-up, he addresses the risk involved. Overall, I give his practice a 9.rnrnREVISION***Dr. Ortiz in Tijuana, MX.rnDr. Grossbard referred me to Dr. Ortiz due to a band slippage. Dr. Ortiz performed Lapband surgery on Dr. Grossbard and he teaches many other American doctors how to do the procedure. rn
