rnrnDr. Aceves and his staff were wonderful. He seems very serious, wants to make sure you understand the surgery you are having, and that it is not a miracle cure. He checked on me daily, asked how I was doing, remembered small details from earlier and seemed like an all around nice gentleman.
My entire experience with Dr. Aceves and his staff could not have been better. The hospital was wonderful, and so were all the nurses. I put my life in Dr. Aceves' hands and could not have been happier with his experience and skill.
I will be heading for Mexico in approximately one week. So far the communications with Dr. Aceves' office has been fine. I am totally confident that the surgery will go well.
Dr. Aceves was a wonderful person, very caring and had an awesome staff of team members ready to answer any questions on the spot. I was afraid there would be a language barrier but there was no such thing. Everyone was so caring and attentive and made me feel like I was the only patient in that wing (though there were several!). He requires me to stay in touch with him and his team members visa email on a very regular basis. If I don't, they email me! I don't feel like I will be dropped through the cracks. Dr. Aceves was very kind and patient with all of our questions. There were Four others with me when he discussed the procedure and they had TONS of questions that I was too overwhelmed to think of. Both his surgical competence and his bedside manner were outstanding.rnrnI would highly recommend Dr. Aceves to anyone who is not able to fork out the high expense of WLS in the States, or whose insurance does not cover the procedure.

My Surgeon was Dr Aceves, assisted by Dr. Campos. I was 100% thrilled with every aspect of the care that I recieved while getting the sleeve gastrectomy and the hospital stay. The staff was organized, competent, and compasionate. Dr. Aceves assumes that you will have your aftercare with your own primary care doctor. If I was having surgery again today, 3 months later, I would choose Dr. Aceves again.
I will be having surgery with by Dr. Aceves on Oct. 1st 2009. I have been in contact with his office staff several times. They have been very helpful and friendly. I have also talked to several of his patients and have gotten excellent feedback from them concerning the care that they recieved.
I have communicated with Dr. Ungson via email & he responded within 24 hours. I have spoken to his assistant, Luz, numerous times. Both speak English very well. Luz is very nice & competent. In my research on deciding a surgeon, I found that many people had many positive things to say about Dr. Ungson, his staff, and the hospital.
I was skeptical about all these posts being true but I went to Dr Aceves I met him we talked he was a very up to earth but professional Dr. He explained to me all that there was to know the process, the food, the risks, and answered all my questions and doubts about the surgery.
I was shown around I saw that the place was clean, smelled good, people actually said hello and looked happy working there.
The treatment I recieved during the days of the surgery were great!! they checked on me,made me feel good & comfortable and explained to me everything they were going to do before i was taken to do whatever I needed to have done(good to be informed)
overall I loved the Drs, staff, the nurses who took care of me and the cordinatiors who I asked them many questions and never once seemed bothered by all my questions and issues.
