Inova Bariatric Surgery Bariatric Center
Dr. Moazzez was focused on making sure I was informed about everything...not only the benefits, but the risks as well. He definitely lets you know you have a lifelong commitment, and stresses your doctor visits afterwards. rnThe follow-up care is GREAT. I could not be happier with it.rnOver time, my impression of Dr. Moazzez has not changed. I would recommend him to anyone.
After agressively studying my options, I had narrowed it down to two Doctors, and decided to go with Dr. Moazzez. He is located less than 5 miles away from me and conveience was a factor, but certainly not my only criteria. I met him last week on January 10th - I attended one of his seminars. The session was rather informative. He knows what he's talking about. He did most of his schooling at Georgetown Medical - and that is very impressive. That's an incredible school. He's never lost a patient before. He's done well over a thousand procedures, he's got experience. He's well mannered, educated, professional. Before I went to that seminar, I did my fair amount of homework on him too. I had been to his website many times, I had reviewed what his patients had to say about him, and I even spoke to many of them. I looked in to his credentials, I totally scoped him out. Everything about him was positive. I simply couldn't find any dirt. I looked and looked - but nothing. His patients adore him, they all have great things to say about him - and I admit that when I met him, I liked him instantly. And I'm a very judgy type person - but I liked him! I asked him challenging questions, he never blinked, he just answered properly, with a smile on his face. I felt comfortable with him. I have my one on one consultation with him on January 24th and I'm sure I'll have more to say after that!rn
I first saw Dr. Moazzez at the Seminar that was offered at INOVA Fair Oaks back in June. He seemed to be very educated on all the surgeries he performs. I was very impressed with him. During my first visit however, I was not impressed with the amount of time I had to wait to be seen. My appointment was at 1:45, and I was not seen by Dr. Moazzez until 3:15. I was getting VERY impatient. Once Dr. Moazzez came in he got started right away explaining everything, and I mentioned that I was at the seminar and had decided to do the LAP band, but after attending the seminar, I decided it wasn't the right thing for me and decided to go with the gastric bypass laparoscopically. He explained everything in more detail and settled my mind that there wasn't a doubt that I would be denied. He said I would more than likely be approved because I met all the criteria. I hope so! rnrnThe office staff was very nice. They seem to really enjoy their job. They are always very helpful when I call to ask questions.rnrnHere is a picture of me and Dr. Moazzez at my last appt. 9/27/06rn
Dr. Moazzez as been a very straight foward doctor. He tells you exactly what the score is and how to get there. He talks to his patients and answers all their questions. He gives you a book that is huge and tells you everything needed to get to your surgery date. His staff are helpful and go the extra mile. Over all I have been very happy with this doctor.
My first impression of Dr. Moazzez was a very calming effect. He gave me a sense of security and confidence. His staff is wonderful and very very helpful, they gave me top notch treatment. Dr. Moazzez explained everything to me from top to bottom and left me with no questions, he was very thorough in everything that he explained to me and the aftercare is just great. I would rate Dr. Moazzez a 10 plus, i research quite a few doctors and he was overall one of the best ones, i felt very comfortable with him and at ease. His bedside manner is great and that is very important to me. Overall Dr. Moazzez is a wonderful surgeon and person. Thanks you have changed my life! rn
I met other surgeons but as soon as I met Dr. Moazzez and heard his presentation I knew he was the surgeon for me. His presentation was thorough and informative. He answered all of our questions and took his time. I was also impressed by how kind his staff was and how everyone voices how they will be there to support you. I received training in nutrition that helped me map out a plan after my surgery.
I first met Dr. Moazzez at a seminar he held and was very impressed with all the information he gave about the different weight loss surgical procedures available. I was pleasantly surprised and refreshed at how personable he was. I loved the fact that he took the time to tell you why he became a bariatric surgeon. I felt comfortable with him in his office and was imediately put at ease. He was knowledgeable and willing to give you his expertise in everyday language...rnrnHe was clear in saying that this surgery is a TOOL to be used in the persuit of a healthy lifestyle and that he and his staff were avaliable to help me acheive my goals. He wants to know how your doing for life...He made it clear that the committment was mine to make.rnrnHis staff is WONDERFUL, very kind, very comfortable...you feel as though your could be part of their family. rnrnI was looking for a doctor with good bedside manner and with a great reputation regarding his surgical skill...and Dr. Moazzez met my expectations.rnrnThe only bad thing I could say is that I had to wait for my appointment because he was delayed in surgery...I think I wouldn't want hm to rush through my surgery just to be on time for an offie appointment...If you wait for your hairdresser why not wait patiently for your surgeon
Dr. Moazzez is an awesome physcian, from my first office visit I was confident in his ability to help me with this life changing decision. His staff assisted with insurance company and the hospital that he is affiliated with has a scheduling coordinator that is out of this world(Vonzie). I would recommend anyone in this area to Dr. Moazzez. In the hospital he came to see me afterwards and his bedside manner was the best. He has been one of the best Dr's that I have delt with in my life. I have seen several Dr's about weight loss and most are not friendly and will talk to you but he will talk to you about everything and he discusses the risks about this surgery several times so that is something that you will be well versed in.
My first impression of Dr. Moazzez was that he wasn't in a rush to get through our meeting and move onto the next patient like most doctors seem to be. He is a very informative man and encouraged questions from me. I've only met with twice and during our second meeting, he was very thorough in answering my questions. I wasn't thrilled about the fact that I was 10 minutes late for our appointment but then I had to wait for 1.75 hrs. to see him. I didn't think his schedule would be thrown off by that much but I guess it was. The office staff is great. Their response time is very quick and they always answer the phone or greet you in the office with a smile on their face. I really can't say anything negative about Dr. Moazzez. He's very thorough in his instructions for taking care of yourself pre- and post-op and definitely wants you to understand all the risks that are involved in having the surgery, even if some of the side effects are rare. We talked a lot about the risks and the realities of the surgeries since I'm overly concerned with those aspects. Pre-Op, I would rate him 10. I can tell his bedside manner will be great. I highly recommend him to anyone considering this surgery. He at least deserves a visit if someone is deciding on a doctor.
