Grand Health Partners Bariatric Center
Dr Kemmeter did my group orientation at MMPC. He seems very young, but very pleasant and knowledgable. He has a sense of humor, but can be very serious. The staff at MMPC thinks very highly of him. I originally went seeking Dr. Baker, but came away scheduled with Dr. K, I am sure I will be very happy with him. I'll let you know more after my visit on Monday Feb. 16th.
When I met Dr. Foote in person, I was slightly nervous, my nervousness deminished through our meeting, as he has a wonderfull bedside manner. Dr. Foote is a kind, soft spoken and calm person. He took the time to answer my questions with great care and attention to detail, leading me to believe in his surgical competence! Dr. Foote made sure to inform my husband and I of all complications and risks of WLS, as well the type of things I can do to decrease those risks.
MMPC emphasizes the importance of a structured before & aftercare program. Combining: Behavioral, Medical/ Surgical, Educational, Nutritional, and Physical support, before, during and after your WLS.
The office staff is busy! I however believe that each person joins together to serve everyone to the best of their collective abilities.
From 1-10 (1 being poor quality & 10 being excellent quality), I'd rate Dr. Foote and the Staff at Michigan Medical PC Center for Health Excellence a 10! I can only pray that my experiences with them remains the same throughout my journey! (I'd consider myself blessed.)
My first impression of Dr. Foote was that he is very young, but I was reassured by his knowledge and compassion. He has been doing gastric bypasses for almost two years and has done over 350 cases!! I had specific questions I wanted to ask him, the majority of which he answered before I ever asked them. I had concerns about the laparoscopic approach since I had heard there is a higher complication rate. He explained there may be a slightly higher rate of certain complications, but there is a significantly lower rate of other complications. The thing that won me over to the laparoscopic technique is that the procedure can be done through six small holes with less overall pain, a shorter hospital stay (he said about 80% of laparoscopic patients go home in one day), and a shorter recovery time (about two weeks). He was honest and told me there is about a 5% chance that I would need to have the "big" incision, but I know that he will do his best for me. The office people at MMPC are very friendly although I did have to wait a little while in the waiting room. Overall, I give Dr. Foote an "A" and I give his office a "A-".
I first met Dr. Foote when my sister had her surgery. He is young and very good looking! I can see where some would be embarassed and not want to talk about being obese with him! He erases any silly feelings almost right away! He is down to earth and professional. He is bilingual--He can talk Dr. talk and he can talk like a normal person too. I got to know Dr. Foote when my husband got so sick after his surgery. An associate of Dr.Foot's performed the surgery, but Dr. Foote was the one on call when my husband got so bad. This man is dedicated to the patients at MMPC. He was very caring and honest with me about Phil's condition. His attentiveness impressed me. I was actually concerned about him getting enough sleep so he could still be the great Dr. that I know he is! I am sure his family misses him when he takes time to attend to all of his patients. I love my husband more than anything. I dont know what life would be like with out him. Dr. Foote and a team of Doctors made sure I would never have to find out. My husband is healthy and getting skinny!----I trust Dr. Foote with my life. I know what he is capible of. I just can't say enough.......
Dr. Foote is very kind and personable. I felt comfortable with him right from the start. He explained the risks and the proceedure of the surgery. By the end of my conversation, I was ready for him to do the surgery that day :-) All the office staff/nurses that I came in contact with made me feel at home.
My first impression of Dr. Foote was that he was very young. Granted he was still older than me (I was 20 at the time) but it was younger than i was used to for a surgeon. He either has had this issue come up before or sensed by anxiety and told me all that he had done, from schooling to the number of surgeries that he had perfomed. He also gave me the option of switching surgeons if I was still uncomfortable. Dr. Foote was extremely patient with all my questions, and compassionate during my fears. I would recomment Dr. Foote to anyone wanting to have the surgery.
My first impression of Dr. Foote was very good. He was very responsive to all of my questions, and explained everything to me very patiently. He seems very compationate. Made me feel very comfortable. The office staff is friendly, but very busy. The only problem I have is trying to call the office for general stuff, like making appointments. It's very difficult to get through. My only concern is that he looked so young, and stated he has only been performing the surgery for a few years. I was comforted to know that he is supervised by Dr. Baker, who has a longer history with this surgery. Also, he has performed over 300 surgeries. Aftercare is strongly emphasized, and there is a structured program to follow. He addressed the risks of surgery in detail. Overall I would rate him a superior Doctor. I am impressed with both his surgical competence and his bedside manner.
My first impression of Dr.Baker was that he was very nice and super intelligent. I could tell he knows exactly what he is doing and that he doesnt leave anything to chance. I felt very secure that he and his staff are very thorough.
He talked about follow-up appointments that were needed. I felt like his office was concerned about me and my weight loss.
The first impression that I had of Dr. foote was that he had a caring alook on his face. He took ther time to go over all my records that were sent to him by my primary shysician and the others that were sent to him. He was right up front on telling me that I was a canidate for the surgery. His office is very big and some of them are very snooty and think they are better than you, but overall he has a very good staff that is competent and helpful. The future patients should know that he takes time with you and answers all questions that you have. His whole office thinks that after care is very important and that you are required to have it. he went through the surgery procedure by drawing a picture of it and explaining eadh step he will be taking in the surgery. He also explained the risks of the surgery and that if he couldn't do the LAp procedure he would have to do the open one. Wiht all the health problems I have he explained that he would be putting a feeding tube in me so that I could have all my meds until they could regulate them or ween me off them. I would rate him and his office as excellent and would recommend him to any one that needs a surgeon and the surgery. I don't know, about his bedside manner, but if it's anything like his office manner then he will be an excellant doctor. The surgical priocedure isn' one that I can comment on until after I have surgery
My first impression of Dr. Foote was thathe is so young! My impression didn't change ....he is still young, but VERY capable. I felt very at ease with him and his experience. His office staff is just like any other....very busy most days and trying to accommodate everyone nicely! I can't say that there is anything I disliked about Dr. Foote, he is a nice guy and a wonderful surgeon! Future patients should know that eventhough he is young, he is a wonderful surgeon. The aftercare is a whole year. So you will go right through your entire weight loss with him! When I spoke with Dr. Foote for the first time, he answered all my questions without hesitation when speaking of the risks. He explained everything I needed to know....then some. I would rate him as great. I want my husband to go to him, that's the amount of confidence I have in him. I didn't get to see Dr. Foote post-op because he had to go out of down the day after my surgery, but his partner came to see me. When I was in the holding area, Dr. Foote was there and he was great. Very nice, humble man.....no arrogance; which I simply HATE!
