I was very impressed with Dr Foote. He did say I had to have a sleep apena test and an endoscopy. I got scheduled right away for the sleep study, the endoscopy, and the routine physical with a Dr Dawn White. I'm very greatful regarding the sleep study. It seems I stopped breathing 101 times per hour. Wow. I am now sleeping quietly through the night. I don't even wake up to go the bathroom.

I would have like to have my surgery before Thanksgiving, for my job gets very busy in December. I am on the cancellation list.

I have nothing but positive comments about MMPC and Dr. Baker. What a refreshing change of pace for overweight people. I was actually thinking the other day, it would be nice to just go and hang out at his office all day. Because the people there are just so nice and understanding. I truly feel blessed to have found MMPC.

They have a very extensive PRE-OP and POST-OP program. Including two weeks of supplements before and after surgery. Which is not very enjoyable but understandable.

Dr. Baker is very professional and to the point. He is the best in Michigan and I feel safe with him.

He gave me back my life. His skill and knowledge changed my world. My first impression of him was he seemed very young, but he has done this surgery so many times. I only saw him a couple of times since -- once before surgery, and once after. He was very caring and nice, and very professional. After-care is very important at MMPC -- there are dietitians, pyschologists, support groups, exercise specialists.

I don't know much about his bedside manner, although he was very nice. But as far as surgical competence goes, I think that's extremely important for an operation such as this.

Wow the first time we sat down with him he spent over an hour with us explaining and re-explining if we needed him too. He answered every question we had and he continues to keep up with this reputation thru my post-op time.
Besides his wonderful bedside manner he is also a great surgeon..while he was doing mine he noticed a tumor, removed it and spent the time "looking around in there" to make sure he couldn't find any other abnormalities. It did take me a few days and a few phone calls to finally get the results of my pathology report (all is OK!) but that has been the only setback I have had.
The staff and entire program at MMPC has been fantastic and one of the reasons I liked this program was the tremendous amount of both Pre and Post op care. You are not going to just have the surgery and be on your way. Dieticians, behavioralists, PA's nurses...they have all been wonderful!

I was very happy with my surgeon. He was very personal and really made me feel that I mattered to him. I still feel that way.The office staff could have not been any better. If you are looking for a real good sergeon I would highy recomed Dr. Baker.Aftercare is really important to him and he encourages you with this.He was very honest about the risks of surgery,at the same time I felt that I had the very best support and I was ready to go. I would give my Dr. the very best rate overall,I was very impressed.

When I met with Dr. Baker he immediately put me at ease. He answered all my questions, I never felt rushed and he explained the procedure so that I as a lay person could understand it. Dr. Baker is with MMPC and I have had nothing but a positive experience so far with them. Even though they are very busy I still feel like they are there for me if I need them. They have a great after care program as well as support meetings twice a month. I picked Dr. Baker for his knowledge of the procedure as well as his reputation in the WLS community.

I am now one week post op and still think Dr. Baker is the greatest. I never once had any qualms about his doing this procedure. After doing my research, speaking with him and understanding his commitment to WLS I knew he was the one for me and he proved that. My procedure was open. I went in for surgery on a Tuesday and was home by Thursday and pain has not been a problem. Thank God for doctors like Dr. Baker. I know can get my life back.

Have heard great things about Dr. Baker, the staff has been very nice. I meet with him on 9/16/04, I can't wait to talk with him.

Dr. Baker certainly lives up to his good reviews. What a nice man. We had a great talk, he listened to me!!! There are no negatives. He explained that he does this surgery now almost exclusively. He saw how it changes people's lives and no other surgery he's done has had that kind of impact. Aftercare at MMPC is stressed thoroughly, they want you to succeed with your new "tool" and make every effort to ensure that you do. He said this is major surgery, granted, but your risks for having a hip or knee replacement were far more than having this surgery. I feel completely confident in Dr. Baker's ability and his "bedside manner". He is also a Christian and that matters a lot to me also.

06/25/04 - Well I met Dr. Baker today. He was very informative. He answered all my questions very well. I feel like I already have a lot of confidence in him. I am glad I am having him for surgery. The MMPC has quite a set up there, and everyone if very compassionate, and caring.
08/04/04 - I am scheduled for surgery with Dr. Baker on 9/1/04, and I do not have an appointment with him until then. So far I have a great impression of the office. The appointments are very organized, I haven't had to hold a long time when I call, and the staff is very professional and timely when returning calls. Over the past weekend I had some nausea as a result of my EGD, and the on call was right there to call in some meds. to help me out. Also a nurse called Monday morning to check on me and see how I was doing. You just don't find too many offices who work that way these days. So far I am very impressed. Dr. Baker is on vacation the day after my surgery for 2 weeks, but I know I will still be in good hands. I feel very confident that the MMPC will be there if I need them for anything.

09/08/04- surgery went as planned on 9/1/04. Dr. Baker was kept me and my family very informed on how things are. He was not afraid to express concerns or progress with us. He is straight and to the point, however we never felt rushed. He came in and said "Hi" before surgery, after, and then talked with my family in the waiting room. The PA's came to check on me through out my stay, however Dr.Baker did come in just before I left the last day,and went over a few more things. All in all I would say Dr.Baker is a 10!!!! He made me and my family feel very comfortable. I feel that I can call the office for any question, and always be treated with dignity, and respect by well trained professionals!!
