Dr. Sudan is very caring and kind. He explained the surgery options and answered all of my questions. He helped me to get a last minute appointment with a cardiologist, so that my surgery would not be cancelled. When I went in for my pre-op work up, two days before surgery, my EKG was abnormal. They would have cancelled my surgery (for which I'd already waited 10 months), but Dr. Sudan got me an appointment with a cardiologist, that same day. I had a echo and was able to go ahead with my surgery. After surgery I even called Dr. Sudan on a Sunday morning, because I felt so bad. He called me right back and was so helpful and kind. I also talked to his nurse, in the immediate post-surgery days, and she was very helpful, as well. Dr. Sudan has a great reputation and I'd highly reccommend him! His staff run monthly support group meetings (which he sometimes attends). They are a great way to get your quesions answered and to meet other wls patients.

My first impression of Dr. Sudan was that he is a gentle and caring man. My opinion is still the same now.
His office staff is wonderful and pleasant to deal with. His nurse/assistant is with you for the first appointment and she is in the operating room with you when you have your surgery. It was very comforting to have a familiar face to see.
The aftercare I recieved was tremendous, and still continues to be. Any question I have I can either call the office or leave an e-mail for his assistant or the staff nutrtionist and I always here from them withtin a few hours or less.
I wouldn't hesitate to highly recommend Dr. Sudan and his staff.
If I had to choose one, I would always choose surgical competence over bedside manner, but luckily I found a surgeon with both.

I first saw Dr. Sudan when he gave his surgery seminar. I was a little scared b/c he mentions all the drawbacks of the surgery. He also mentions the upside. Any good surgeon will do this.

I met the Doctor for the second time when I had my initial consult. He was informative and caring. He is interested in the process of surgery. He wants to make sure you are a good candidate.

I just cannot say enough about his staff. Charity is tough but very smart and on top of the whole surgery process. She does not play games. You have to do things the way they ask you to do them. This is all for the sake of safety.

Alissa- there is not a better person on the planet to talk to about surgery. She understands the stress and has a million ideas about how to reduce stress, although I am not certain that any type of stress reduction technique would work for me. She is a great person!

Kristyn- the nutritionist- she will help with anything you need to know about food, dieting, exercise, etc. She cares about your health and mental welfare. She also understands that it's tough to go from eating poorly to eating perfectly in one day.

The aftercare program is structured. Monthly surgical support groups are held. I have been attending each group. It is important for motivation and understanding to be a part of your vocabulary. Negativity is not a good way to go into surgery.

I would rate them as a wonderful office. I never have problems getting calls returned and questions answered. I must admit that I tend to be very persistent when I want a question answered though. Anyone who really wants the surgery will work with the office to get all the testing done. Dr. Sudan does not just schedule surgery like some surgeons without a battery of tests. The lack of testing at other facilities is why people die in my opinion.

I do not have anything necessarily negative to say. I would certainly like for the process to be more fast paced, but that is just not the healthy and safe way to do it.

Please remember when meeting Dr. Sudan that the most important thing to his office is your physical ability to get through the surgery. They can refer you to lots of good psychiatrists, but it is your responsibility to find your own support system. They are a surgical team, not a ladies rotary club. As patients, we must take responsibility for our own mental health during this process.

I met with Dr. Sudan for the first time on Feb. 27 and he is so nice. He was very straight to the point, and I liked that about him. His staff is great to, and when I have my surgery at the end of April I know I will be in good hands.

Dr Sudan and his staff are an excellent team, they have kept me well informed. If you have any questions regarding this doctor, feel free to contact me. It seems like forever when you're first put on the waiting list, but it's worth the wait. I had surgery Tuesday, January 27th, 2004.

I am one week and one day post op. Lap RNY at Creighton/Omaha. No complications. Home in 48 hours and doing well. Four days ago I had my first follow up with Dr. Sudan. Staples and drain removed. Will return at 6 weeks post-op. Doing great--finally able to relax and sleep. Incisions are healing fine. No problems keeping water, clear liquids, and protein drink down. Dr. Sudan and his staff have been excellent. They have a lot of confidence and expect everything to go as planned. I adore them.
I was very well informed and feel Dr. Sudan and his staff have a great program at Creighton. Tami

Dr Sudan's office is a very busy one, He was wonderful to me and gave me all the information I needed to make an informed decision. His Physician's assisstnat, Kriten, ix the best. She takes time to visit to work with you, to answer all your questions and more. As with any big hospital it is not always easy to get to the Dr Sudan, but you can always reach his physicians assistant and that is who you really need ayway.

His office and clerical staff is overworked, but can do their jobs well when they have the time to do it. I found them personable and kind they just need a little pressure.

The office and hospital itself are great. confortable and made for people just like us. Furniture, clothing, and the like is al very confortable. makes you feel as though you belong.

Thnks again for all you do!

I had my consult surgery yesterday, Fri., Sept. 5. I was very impressed with Dr. Sudan and his staff. I received excellent care while I was in his office. He seems very confident and willing to share his wealth of information.

My impression of Dr. Sudan and his staff has not changed. If anything it has been reinforced that I have made the right decision. His staff has just been amazing. Their emails and phone calls keep me going. Future patients of Dr. Sudan's will be very lucky to be in his care. Can't wait to get to the "losing" side.

He is reall a great Doctor. He will give you all the information you want and is very caring. but my impression of him changed a few times but I stuck it out. And all turned out well. But some of the problems I was having with him was my own insucurities. He has a strict way of doing things. but that doesn't make him bad it makes him know his business. You can expect to be asked to lose a few lbs. Don't fight it. Its hard but if you want the surgery bad enough you will do it. Him and his staff are great very to the point with a touch of humor. you need to learn to ajust because he is Damn good at what he does.

Dr. Sudan is very focused on the total health of the individual. I felt at first that he was detached, but once I had my consultation I knew that he was very interested in helping me. He was very direct, but gentle. My scheduled surgery had to be delayed, due to an abnormal reading on my EKG, and he did everything he could to get me re-scheduled as quickly as possible. The nutritionist is awesome. Even though she has no weight problem herself, she had an understanding for what I was battling. The surgery nurse, Charity, was kind, but seemed too busy. They now have a coordinator that has lifted some of Charity's load. Alyssa, the coordinator, is fantastic. She is friendly, and compassionate. Overall, other than the wait, which is the same no matter who you have, the experience was painless, and I mean painless.
