So today was my 6 month follow up with Dr. Frantzides, and so far I lost 116 pounds. I can honestly tell you that these have been the best 6 months of my life. Not only because of the surgery, but because of the surgeon as well. He is a phenomenal surgeon!! I swear he gets more excited than I do about the weight loss. He is genuine...he truly cares about his patients and there overall well being. All the awards on the walls are well-deserved, and quite possible an understatement of his abilities!! He just may start to get Christmas presents from me every year!

I have been very pleased with Dr. F, his office staff and the team at St. Francis Hospital (Evanston). I made the decision to meet with Dr. F after reading ALL the books, talking to other healthcare professionals and considering options. I have been in the healthcare field myself for 20 yrs and saw patients who have benefited from bariatric surgery. Finally, (on my birthday!), I met with Dr. F to discuss my case, my concerns, my fears and my expectations. He explained everything in great details and allayed all of my concerns. His staff and he even mediated with my insurance company when they chose to be difficult.

I am about 10 days out from a gastric bypass procedure now; with approximately 20 pd weight loss. I am looking forward now to making plans with my husband and children! I thank Dr. F, his staff and St. Francis Hospital staff for all their assistance and support. I highly recommend this group!

It's going to be a great 2013 and beyond!!

I came to a point in my life where I lost all hope that I will ever be able to live a normal life again. I tried all the diets and and I even tried some pills. I would loose a minimal amount of weight, and could only maintain it for a short time (and that's working hard, and depriving myself everyday). I blame myself for failing and that caused me depression and withdrawal from every day's interactions and activities with other people. TODAY, once again I have hope that I will live a normal life, and SOON. I admit that reluctantly, but not having any other choice, and pressure from my family, recently I underwent a weight loss surgery by Dr. Constantine Frantzides. The surgery was done laparoscopically and I was sent home the next day. It wasn't as bad as I thought it would be, and the weight is just shedding off. I am now glad that I gave in to my family's pressure to have the gastric bypass. Dr. Frantzides and Teresa are wonderful, compassionate, funny, and all this and more made me quite comfortable in my decision to proceed with this.

I originally had my gastric bypass surgery performed in Downers Grove with the Wish Center. After my original surgery I had complications with a hernia that the Wish Center attempted to repair multiple times. After several failed operations, I finally had a friend refer me to Dr. Frantizides. From the first visit, he felt like a friend of the family. His staff is very kind and Dr. Frantzides repaired my hernia laparoscopically and I have not had a problem with that since! I moved away to Bloomington 8 years ago and unfortunately fell into poor health again the last few years. After exhausting all of my local options I finally contacted Dr. Frantzides out of desperation. He not only remembered me but got me right into his office. I had gained a lot of my weight back, had gallbladder issues, nausea, pain...etc. Dr. Frantzides has now performed a laparoscopic revision on my original surgery, removed an ovarian cyst, my gallbladder and removed several adhesians. Thank you for saving my life yet again Dr. Franzides..I would not trust anyone except for you!

I had my Laparoscopic Gastric Bypass 2 years ago with Dr.Frantzides. I currently am down 118lbs and could not be happier with the results. Every aspect and step that was taken with my care has been exceptional. I felt confident in my decision to go ahead with this surgery after consulting with Dr. Frantzides and was felt at ease. My experience has been wonderful. St. Francis Hospital was excellent and after with his office staff was as well. I currently just had a hernia and skin removal done with Dr. Frantzides and the results are beyond my expectations. Dr. Frantzides is passionate and caring and I could not have found a better surgeon to go on this journey with. I would highly recommend Dr. Frantzides after researching options for weight loss.

I had my surgery in January of 2012. I am now 102 lb lighter and healthier in every aspect.

Dr. Frantzides loves his work and loves his patients. He has an understanding of practical patient psychology that most doctors don't have. He knows how to ask for information and how to give information in the best way given the patients' personality.

He is thorough and follows you through the entire process, making sure you know what's coming and making you comfortable with it.

A single example proves the value of this surgery for me. Before the operation I had to stop after climbing four steps to my upstairs bedroom to catch my breath. Now I climb all eight steps with no problem. Extend that improvement to every movement you make in life and that's how much it's a different world for me.

OMG what a wonderful person, and what a phenomenal surgeon. Before I met with him I attended all the seminars that I could get into in the Chicago land. I had consults with several surgeons both on the North and West side of Chicago. My daughter found out about Dr. Frantzides through one of her co-workers who had bariatric surgery by Dr. Frantzides several years ago. I met the doctor yesterday and he was quite impressive in every aspect. He was well dressed, polite, funny, and very knowledgeable. He spend about 1.5 hours with me and my daughter describing all the bariatric options, and answering our questions . Though he left it up to me to decide which procedure I would choose, he gave me a hint as to which one he recommends for me. He pointed out that the surgery can be defeated if I don't follow his instructions and follow up with him or a support group. He appeared quite proud to show us his books, and I found that "cute". This consultation took longer and gave me more information than all of the consultations I had before with other surgeons, combined. I really was very pleased with Dr. Frantzides and his office and we are in the process of getting the per-authorization for me to have the surgery. I KNOW I am in "the best of hands". I will update after the surgery.

When some people speak about this wonderful surgery they talk about their individual experience, our experience is as a family. In the immediate family we have 6 individuals and 4 have had this surgery with Dr. Frantzides. The 2 (one of which is a two year old) that have not had the surgery are reaping the benefits from learning healthier habits and enjoying food the way the rest of do. We have changed our holidays from a food focus to the true meaning of quality together time. The surgery has not only saved our lives but given us a richer more enriched life and lifestyle.

I was very fortunate to find this wonderful Doctor at a time when I was suffering from problems related to a LapBand I had had placed years earlier. I am an RN and researched the LapBand carefully before I chose this option. What was not known at that time was the problems that can occur when the band stays in place for many years. Dr Frantzides along with Theresa at his office helped me navigate my choices and I decided to proceed with removal of the band. I also had bypass surgery and am now doing well. I am happy and healthy and grateful that I found the best possible provider to help get me to this point.

Dr. Frantzides was phenomonal. First, his bedside manner is impecable. Pre and post op, he took the time to answer any and all questions I or my family had. He describd the initial surgery 3 different ways, just so I could have a full understanding of what I was getting myself into. He is an excellent surgeon with a no holds bar attitude, and isn't afraid to tell it like it is.
