I had my surgery with Dr. Frantzides about 6 months ago. This is how I look now after I lost 82 pounds. I feel GREAT, I think I look great, I get complements every day from people thinking that I have accomplished this by myself. This is obviously my little secret. I have been shopping in regular stores, and that makes me feel so normal. My daughter actually bought me a couple of blouses guessing my new size. What do you know, when I tried them on, they were way too large. Now that I lost this weight I look back and I wonder how on earth I was living carrying extra 82 pounds. Before the surgery I had major problems sleeping but not anymore. It is also amazing that now I enjoy food more than before though it's in smaller quantifies. From what I understand the doctor preserved the Vagus nerve and I never experienced vomiting or what I have seen described on the internet as "dumping". Dr. Frantzides and his office especially Teresa have been very supportive and they "keep it simple" . They make me feel that I am their only patient which is something I never experienced before with other doctors. I'm looking forward to even thinner me, as I am being told that I have another year of loosing weight. I will follow up with my progress in 6 months. I received my surgery on Feb, 17th 2014. I am just over 5 weeks post op and have lost 44 lbs! I feel so blessed to have found Dr Frantzides. He came recommended by my Aunt who had a bariatric surgery with Dr 10 years ago and swears he was the best around. I have found this to be true with my experience also. The professionalism and attentiveness of Dr Frantzidses and his staff(Teresa) is unlike any i have ever found. I have had NO complications and feel great just after 1 month. Looking forward to the future!

There are no words to describe Dr. Frantzides and his staff. He is caring, compassionate and not afraid to tell you the truth. His incredible bedside manner leaves you feeling completely at ease. There is no judgement, no berating and most importantly no blaming. Teresa is just as amazing as he is. I swear that smile on her face is painted on!!
My surgery was 1 year ago today, and it has been the best year of my life, I'm 142 pounds lighter. All thanks to Dr. Frantzides and his amazing staff!

I am someone who has been overweight as long as I can remember. I had always thought this would be a battle I could and would never win. Thanks to Dr. Frantzides my weight and health are exactly where I should be! This is an unbelievable accomplishment for me. 1 short year after Roux - en - Y surgery. I have gone from 319 lbs, size 48 pants and 4XL shirts to 175 lbs size 32 pants and between a L and XL for a shirt. I have never felt better! I truly have Dr. Frantzides to thank. Not only does he perform the surgery in a way that doesn't have dumping as a side effect. ( I can eat chocolate, sweets, whatever ... just not that much :) ) He has had a wonderful way of making me feel that we were on the same team and I truly trust this man with my life. He clearly explained what to do and what not to do. He explains things in such a way that you understand WHY you should follow his advice.
I have never had a doctor let alone surgeon take the time with me over my concerns on the phone or in person. He never made me feel rushed and always called me back personally when I left messages for him. The last part is just a benefit because the real reason I chose Dr. Frantzides is that I truly believe he is of the most competent, experienced and innovative surgeons in practice today.

I chose to do this for many reasons. I’m eighteen years old and all my friends are energetic and healthy. I couldn’t walk up the stairs or go through my school halls with out feeling out of breath. I didn’t want to feel that way anymore. I wanted to be able to go to my school dances and not have to stop because I couldn’t breathe. I wanted to be normal. I had tried everything to help me get healthy, but nothing was working. Hearing about Dr.Frantzides gave me hope. Researching through the internet I found out that he was the first in the USA to perform obesity surgery on teenagers. Being this young I was a little scared, but Dr.Frantzides told me that what I was going through wasn’t my fault. He was the only doctor that made me feel comfortable. I felt safe with him and he always put a smile on my face. He made me feel like one day I could be healthy again. I had surgery and only had to stay there one night. It’s been over a month now and I’ve lost thirty five pounds. Already, my face looks like someone else. I can walk around with out feeling like passing out. I’m so glad I made this decision and decided to go through with the surgery.

I have battled obesity for some time and I was at the point of feeling that no one and nothing could help me with my weight loss goals. For the last two years I have been battling liver damage that was being made much worse by my weight issue. I considered gastric bypass, but was very hesitant until I met Dr. Frantzides. I knew him by reputation only through a dear friend who is also a doctor. After discussing the procedure with Dr. Frantzides my decision was made. I immediately trusted him to take charge of my health and the results have been even more than I expected. Dr. Frantzides and his staff walked us through every step of the process from insurance to preparation to surgery and ultimately full recovery. I am now at the 3 month mark and feeling great! Not only have I already lost 60 pounds, but most importantly my liver enzymes are now almost back to normal! For me, the surgery and the care I received before and after could not have gone better. Weight loss surgery is a very personal decision and everyone has to weigh the options for themselves, but if you are even considering this procedure Dr. Frantzides is definitely the doctor you should see first.

Dr. Frantzides is the BOMB! He is very warm and welcoming when you are in his office and his interest and concern for his patients is genuine. I had my surgery at the beginning of September and have not regretted a minute. He and his staff are attentive to the patients and spend the time to answer all questions. He is a very skilled surgeon and I cannot say enough great things about Dr. Frantzides. I recommend any person who is considering bariatric weight loss surgery to consult with Dr. Frantzides. It will be the best investment you will ever make in your life.

I had my laparoscopic gastric bypass almost 2 months ago. At the same time Dr. Frantzides performed multiple other procedures. I had a very large hiatal hernia, and an inflamed gallbladder full of stones. Despite the complexity of the surgery I was up and walking a couple hours after surgery and the next day I was home. Before the surgery I was having multiple problems. Not only was I obese but my reflux was very bad; I was regurgitating a lot of my food. I was also having a very symptomatic gallbladder as well. I still don’t understand how I got obese. After surgery everything got instantly better. I don’t have any of the symptoms from my hernia or my gallbladder anymore. I have lost 42 pounds since the surgery and still going strong. Ever since the surgery, I am able to sleep like a baby, which I haven’t done in a long time, and my energy during the day has improved greatly. When I met Dr. Frantzides I did not hesitate for one second. He is a very warm and wonderful, person and doctor, and he is obviously very passionate about his work. I scheduled my surgery as soon as my insurance allowed it, and I never once looked back. This was the best decision I have ever made, and I wish I had done it sooner.

I give dr Frantzides 5 star, and I give myself 5 star ,that I found him and decided to take my husband Dave to have gastric bypass done by dr Frantzides. My old friend Ned had surgery done by doctor Frantzides around 10 years ago and he was always telling me ,that the best thing he ever done for his heath is bariatric surgery. When my husband and I decided to do something with his weight , while he is still healthy (he has strong family history of diabetes, blood pressure), we decided to find this miracle doctor ,that our71 year old friend could recall the name of.
At age 45 my husbands weight elevated to 345 pounds. We couldn't wait any longer. I started looking on line for "Greek", "Bariatric" ,"Rush" and found him. Printed the picture and showed to my friend. It was him! Little older then 10 years ago , but it was him! Without waiting any longer I scheduled the appointment. To tell you the truth my husband was hesitating about surgery. Despite his weight ,he didn't feel bad ,was relatively active and never had a physical from age 16. Next day we were out of the Hospital. 2 days later he went to check on his work. 11 days after surgery he is 311 pounds. He lost 34 pounds! The surgery was ultimate success. Dr Frantzides is talented, exceptionally knowledgable doctor . His work is his life, he has abundance of experience. As a medical professional,I took responsibility for my husbands surgery and I didn't have the right to make mistake. I am so happy I chose dr Frantzides! He saved my husbands life, he also saved my life .How do I know it? I see perpetual smile on my husbands face.
