First impression was Dr. Hart is very quiet and is going to do the surgery and nothing more. This is not a problem as his reputation is good and a skilled surgeon is all I require. He only asked if I had questions and since I'd read several books prior to my consult I didn't and met with him less time than I waited for him. Sadly some of the office staff have been problematic. The person responsible for filing insurance for Dr. Hart's patients especially. She was rude beginning with the consult and doesn't actually know very much about insurance. When you question her the answer is always an arrogant, \"I deal with insurance everyday.\" That may be true but I worked for a major insurance company and have also billed for providers. I learned things in training she still knows nothing about. Today I called to inquire when everything would be submitted to my insurance as it was actually in and ready to go last week. I finally received an email outside office hours today stating I could come pick up my records as I'd have to submit on my own because I'm missing information my policy doesn't state I need and they \"won't waste time submitting something they are positive will be denied.\" Along with being psychic she is under the impression insurance is insurance across the board and couldn't possibly vary by employer. I don't feel I was getting individualized care and it was really obvious the only person concerned about my getting the surgery was me so although the wasted time is disappointing I am glad I'll be handling filing myself.
My first impression was that I was just a number to Dr. Hart. He was just there to get the papers signed and that was it. Not a hand holder and definately not a warm and fuzzy guy. I don't even think he said my name and looked me in the eye when I came in the room. At least he asked me if I had any questions after our five minute meeting. The worst part about him is that I did not even see his face on the day of surgery. Not a quick hello before or even a nod after. Nothing! I was not even sure if he was really the guy who put the band in or not. The wonderful nurses at Emory Johns Creek said his name a few times anyways. So, as far as expecting anything other from him than being a competent surgeon with a great record and great credentials, don't get your hopes up. His bedside manner.... DOES NOT EXIST, he was NEVER bedside. However, I still thank him for doing his J.O.B well. But really, what do we need from a surgeon except for him to do great surgery???? #2364's opinion rnrnThese are my personal impressions of my own personal experience and I am making no statements about what other people may experience. I also made up the number, I do not know how many surgeries he has performed.
Dr. Hart is a very nice man. My first impression of him was, he is very very quiet but very experienced. I was told before my visit that he was \"a man of very little words .\" So I wasnt surprised when I met him and he was quiet. He shook my hand, we sat down, discussed my questions and that was about it. He was very straight to the point and nothing more or nothing less. But he was however very professional and as long as he knew what he was doing I didnt mind. During my pre-op I asked if he would let me mom and husband know everything went okay after my surgery he said he would via nurse. Well that never happened. I'm guessing the nurse told the front desk I was fine and when my family inquired thats what they were told. That was my only upset over the whole surgery and it wasnt even Dr. Harts fault. Over all I liked him. He and the operating staff took great care of me during my operation. The nurses were impressed at how fast I recovered from everything. He came and checked up on me while I was in recovery which I wasnt expecting, I feel bad because when he asked me how I was doing all I said was \"I'm good\" and that was it. I wanted to thank him but for some reason was out of it and couldnt find the words, lol. The office staff at True Results, is awesome. There nice and always willing to answer any questions. They even called me the next day to see how I was doing and if I needed anything. I would recommend Dr. Hart in a quick minute as well as True Results.
Dr Hart is just great! When i first met him in the intro seminar I loved his straight up personality. He is 100% serious about what works- and he doesn't sugar coat, which i appreciate. He was also funny though, and I think that helps make him approachable. He is a brilliant surgeon and that makes up for what could be considered his slightly \"off\" bedside manner. I think it may have to do with if he just clicks with you, as i found his bedside manner fine, but I know others found him to be a bit dry. Dr Hart's office staff is WONDERFUL and his office is all about the aftercare. I would definitly recommend Dr Hart to anyone who was looking for information regarding WLS.
Dr. Hart is an excellent surgeon who takes a lot of pride in keeping his statistics clean. He seems to be a man of very few words, but always takes the time to answer any questions you may have. I have not felt rushed at any appointment so far. His staff has always been very accommodating & friendly. The aftercare program is thorough, except for a physical trainer or on-staff counselor. However, I would rate him a 9 out of 10. I would give a 10 if he were more personable. :>) I would highly recommend Dr. Hart to any of my friends or family considering any WLS.
