Atlanta Bariatrics Bariatric Center
My first impression of Dr. Hart is that he was a very caring doctor, who also is a Christian. That meant an awful lot to me.
His office staff at the time consisted of a nurse, and Office Manager named Lisa. She is the best, if anyone can get you approved Lisa can. Dr. Hart expressed Aftercare very strongly and expressed the importance of vitamins and protein supplements. He talked about Support Groups, and he was very clear on all the risks of surgery. I would have to rate him and his staff a 10, and his bedside manner definitely a 10. I started this journey 3/28/02 at 361 lbs. Now today, March 15, 2003 I now weigh 169 lbs. A total loss to date of 192#. Yeah!!
Dr. Hart was a very professional gentleman from the start. He let me know what he would expect from me and what changes would happen in my life after surgery. He also put me on a diet and made me start water aroebics. He told me he wanted me in the best possable health I could be in to go thru my surgery with as little problems as possable. I am now awaiting insurance approval and have a surgery date of May lst, 2003. Him and His staff are wonderful I felt very confortable around all of them. I would give Dr. Hart a 10-on a scale from 1-10 very nice.
I very much liked Dr. Hart from day one. I first started with Dr. Duncan but, had lots of problems whith the office staff "dragging their feet". I never did meet Dr. Duncan and have heard nothing but good things about him but, the office staff dropped the ball on my insurance approval and his office seems too busy. There surgery dates are many months out. Dr. Hart gave me a date right away (I had done all my pre testing and paper work form Dr. Duncan).
POST-OP - Now that I am post-op, I wanted to add something in here about my surgeon. Dr. Hart is a fantastic surgeon and I would highly recommend him to anyone contemplating weight loss surgery. He did an excellent job of explaining the procedure, preparing me for the procedure, executing the procedure, and being their for post-op guidance. My incisions are tiny, tiny and I have had no complications! I thank God and Dr. Hart for giving me this tool!
PRE-OP - Since I have been going down this road for several months, I felt comfortable that he explained everything and was patient while I asked questions. I liked that we had a one-on-one meeting, not in a group setting. He spent about an hour with me. I didn't feel rushed. I feel he set realistic goals for me and as well as aftercare. He wants me to lose 15 pounds before the surgery. I can't say enough positive things about Dr. Hart and his office staff!!! Tonya and Lisa are fantastic! The nurses are great too!
I had my first consult on December 4th, 2002. I had already got the ball rolling with another surgeon but decided not to go with that surgeon. I had heard good things about Dr Hart so I got a consult with him. I already had all my pre-op tests done. He met with me and went over everything in great detail. He was wonderful. His staff was wonderful too. They got me in and out in no time, while covering everything important that I needed to know. Then mid January the office called to tell me I had been approved, and gave me a date of February 18th. Talk about working fast. I can't believe I will soon be on the other side!
Like him very much. Have seen twice. Actually had read my file both times BEFORE he saw me. Very professional.
Office staff is generally efficient, especially the patient advocate.
No structured aftercare program.
Very clear on risks and rewards of surgery.
I'll take surgical competence over bedside manner, any day, but I still would like my surgeon to be kind. Dr. Hart seems to be so.
Had my appt with Dr. Santivicca 1/9, have my cardiologist appt 1/15 and my first appt with Dr. Hart on 1/27.
I have decided to stay with Dr. Hart. I have heard all wonderful things about him. I see him on 1/27. Can't wait!!!
I see the cardiologist on Wed. 1/15. Again, once completed I hope I don't have anything else to do before I can have the surgery scheduled. Psych done and out of the way. Sooooo...can't wait. yes I am impatient!
Okay all, I saw Dr. Hart today. What a sweetheart!!! Explained everything and I acutally understand it. I have a tenative date of 4/1/03. He wants me to lose as much weight as I can prior to surgery because it will be easier on me and also him doing the surgery. I am going to be good and try to lose at least 40 pounds in the next 2 months.
So far so good.
Dr. Hart was wonderful, he explain the procedure and was willing to answer any question i had. He was able to catch another medical problem with my thyroid that several physicans had missed in the last two months. I was very pleased with his staff professional manner, and look forward to my next vist.
Thanks Joi Williams
I've started with Dr. Duncan's office in August of this year and after getting approved received a surgery date of 03/03/2003, which is to far out and I need the surgery done this year. My insurance is changing as of 01/01/2003 and I will have to pay a big amount.
As of today I've changed to Dr. Christopher Hart. He seems not so busy and a lot of people went from Dr. Duncan to Dr. Hart.
Looks like they can still get me in this year:-)
11/18/02, I did meet Dr. Hart today and he seems very professional and nice.
Good mechanic as far as the actual procedure went. The office staff is very helpful. Not good on post-op help as far as nutritional counseling and recommendations for eating, refers you to the book, "The Complete Guide to Obestiy Gurgery" for aftercare. Was very thorough in explaining the procedure and the risks.
