Arif Ahmad, M.D Bariatrics Bariatric Center
I have had a poor self image about myself all my life. Because of this I have always percieved myself looking heavier than I am. This led to larger weight gain. I trusted Dr.Ahmad from his first smile. I checked his credentials and feedback. The seminar sealed the deal. After care on top- it left no time for doubts.
I had the lap band procedure. I am one week post op. I have been struggling with weight issues ever since my first child was born. Dr.Ahmad is very kind and educates his patients. I have full trust in his health practices.
For 20 years I've tried many different diet and exercise changes/programs to little or no success. Nine years ago I looked into Gatric Bypass surgery, 7 months ago I decided to go forward. Surgeon was very thorough, individualized my program, surgery and recovery to fit my needs, ensured that I knew all possibilities before surgery. Open to all support groups- information part-great; Bypass portion overtaken by two patients= makes it uneasy yo share/ask questions.
I have fought obesity all of my life. I have lost and put back over 100 lbs. The last five to seven years were even worse-where I had both my knees and ankles in a lot of pain and was unable to walk or exercise. I felt trapped in my own body. After the surgery and loss of some of the weight I started to feel less pain in all of my joints and with the continued loss of weight have been feeling the best that I have since I was in my 20's. I am able to walk for a few miles and can exercise on a regular basis now. I feel more energized and hope to continue this way for the rest of my life. I not only feel better but look better and it has been a great boost to my self esteem. What I can see about Dr.Ahmad except that he is the best. He was extremely competent, meticulous and patient with all my questions and was very caring and recieved the very best care in the hospital. The support meetings are important. You should attempt to make as many meetings a possible. The aftercare was excellent. One more thing to mention is you must stay focused to keep the weight off.
I was thinking about this surgery for years, but I didn't think I qualified because I didn't have diabetes or high blood pressure other co-morbid issues so my first meeting I was surprised that I did qualify. Love my surgeon and his wife and his staff. Dr. spoke in simple layman terms and never felt discriminated because of my weight. Very welcoming office. Looking forward to the support groups.

Decided it was time for a lifestyle change- tired of the yo yo effect. Surgeon and staff were very informative throughout the entire process- no surprises, I haven't attended any of the support meetings yet- The intial support meeting and after surgery help was great.
I was very overweight, it took me a year to decide to have the surgery. Dr.Ahmad was very nice and explained everythingin detail. He is a good surgeon and came highly recommended.
63 years old and a serious case of sleep apnea. Dr.Ahmad is caring, knowledgable and most understanding, organized practice. All is wonderful. They are a family that takes you in with love and care. I feel great in everyway.
