Question:
Is Traditional or the Light Italian dressing ok to use on my salads?
My favorite type of dressing that I like using is the traditional or light Italian dressing. We usually get the Portmann's brand. It's says on the back label that it only has 3g Sugar, Og Protein, Omg Cholest., 1.5g Sat. Fat, Total carb 3g, Total fat 10g. Calories: 100 & Fat Cal. 90. All of this is per 2 Tbsp. — Snowflake_Princess (posted on July 23, 2003)

That seems like a lot of fat, but it depends on what the oil is that is
used in the dressing. Personally, if I liked it, I would probably stick
with it. Is the light version lower in fat? Just watch out for added carbs
in "light" stuff! And, you do need some fat in your diet!

Of course all surgeons and dieticians are different. But mine said for us
to just use the regular salad dressings and not worry about the light ones.
reg. mayo and reg Peanut butter, too.

Kraft makes a SunDried Tomato dressing which is Italian like, it has 60
calories for 2 tbsp. It is very good on salad and even better baked on
chicken!!!

My personal fave is Good Seasons. I use canola. (Yes, I've read the urban
legends about it)

A weight loss doctor once recommended salad dressings from Walden Farms and
since then I was hooked. They are calorie free, fat free, cholesterol free,
sugar free, and carb free. Right now I use the Creamy Bacon Dressing and it
tastes awesome. I always buy a different one and have yet to be
disappointed. My supermarket has them in the vegetable section as opposed
to the aisle. I would say it tastes just like regular salad dressing.
