Question:
Has anyone used dr. robert jetter in nyc for LBL?

I met Dr. Jetter at my support group meeting last month. I also know
several who have used him for arms and TT's but not LBL. People love him,
but I thought he was a bit arrogant, suggesting that post-ops may need to
have their surgeries in 2 stages (another word for having a revision). He
may be a good surgeon, but I was not impressed with his attitude. I have
seen some good scars from him and some not so good. I used someone else
foo\r my TT.

I also met Dr. Jetter last month in a support group meeting and I was
extremely impressed with him and did not find him arrogant at all. In fact
I found him a bit of a perfectionist which I was very impressed with. His
reasoning behind the "2" surgeries is to get all of the excess
skin which may not be possible to get the first time around if there is a
lot of excess skin. He wants people to be happy with their surgery results
and sounds like he will go to great lengths to make people happy. I have a
consultation with him in December and have talked with 3 different people
from this Board who were very impressed and happy with Dr. Jetter's
results. Also at the meeting there was a woman who had her arms done and a
LBL with Dr. Jetter and was very happy with the results and the scars. I
saw her arm scars and they looked great. You have to meet him yourself and
get a fix on whether he would be right for you. Like I said, I was very
impressed with him and I am not easy to impress! I should also note that
he stayed after the meeting and spoke with me for about 30 minutes about
the different procedures and plastic surgery in general. I thought that
was very gracious as well. Good luck and feel free to email me if you want
to compare notes. I also have an appt with Dr. Abramson in December.
