Question:
Whats the right amount to eat??
Man..you read this q and a section for MONTHS before your surgery...and you see people asking this SAME QUESTION over and over, and think they must be dim. Well...here it is again, folks. I guess we just need reassurance:) Today for breakfast, I went out with my family. Ordered 1 egg over easy, side of bacon crisp, and one piece of whole wheat toast, no butter. I ate the egg, and about 1 piece of bacon, and 1/2 the piece of toast. Does this sound like I'm doing ok???? I never thought I'd be one to have the fear of eating too much/not enough/bad thing, etc, but I am! Besides that, its that time of the month...which means I'm not losing, which means I'm SURE I'm doing something wrong. Anyone??? — kathy B. (posted on September 20, 2003)

Kathy, It seems fine except at your stage I would have skipped the toast,
but that's just me. However, that 1/2 piece of toast was fairly equivalent
to the amount of grams of protein you had. Early on I would try to be at
least 75% protein or even higher. A lot depends on your post-op eating
plan though as they all differ drastically. Like I said the bread was okay
just not what I would have chose. Sounds like you are doing well and
adjusting to your new healthy life.
