Question:
I'd like to know what Honest Tea tastes..
Has anyone ever tasted a new drink called "Honest Tea"? One of my co-workers knows that I am always looking for new drinks to supplement my WLS and she told me about a drink that is what she says "virtually sugar-free. 17 Calories, 0 fat, 5mg sodium, 5g carbs, and 5g sugars., 0g protein. Come is different "flavors". She said she saw it in the health food store and was going to buy me a few to try. I just wanted to know if anyone has tasted it and what does it taste like? — yourdivaness (posted on February 27, 2003)

Hi, honestly I think this tea has too many carbs, and too much sugar. Why
have all this and even though the calories seem low at 17- after a few it
will add up? Why not have just plain decaf tea- with sugar substitute an/or
fresh lemon? I would think you could add a few things to make it taste
different. Use your imagination. I, personally like plain old hot tea- or
coffee with cinnamon added to the grounds before brewing. I am pre-op and
this is only my opinion.

Original poster. Just to add to the post of Jan S...just the plain old
coffee and thot tea you speak of have calories and carbs as well, my dear.
Quite frankly, 5g of sugar is not a lot UNLESS you make a HABIT of drinking
it constantly. I don't believe I said I would drink it all day EVERY DAY,
did I? Don't knock it unless you've tried it.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Yourdivaness, but tea has 2 calories per 8 oz
with less than 1g of carbs. Coffee had 5 calores per 8 oz with less than
1g of carbs. This is so little as practically to be non-existent.
Certainly a lot less than the 17 calories of this "Honest
Tea"...JR

You can drink what you want - I drink diet lipton ice tea and excuse the 5
calories. BUT you asked for opinions and then blast someone when it is not
what you were looking for, that was not fair.

Sorry your divneAss..Ooops...did I say that!? Exactly what does
"virtually sugar-free" mean? IMHO, I beg to say Honest Tea is
"Sugar Loaded" Tea ROFLMAO!

Sorry AMOS sibs, I didn't mean to sound nasty. I realize perception does
make all the difference. Thanks, JR, for setting me straight on the
tea...Don't think I'll try it after all. I could add a comment to the
poster with regards to my name, but I'm bigger than that and won't go
there. No need for further replies to this one.
