Question:
V-8...Anyone else craving it? It's crazy...
I NEVER liked this stuff before my surgery...now--at around 2.5 months, I started CRAVING it. I figure it has something to do with the fact that really (still) can't tolerate many vegetables. But I tell you if I don't have my V-8 at least once a day, I'm a raving fool. I even trudged through below-freezing temperature in a near blizzard on Christmas day to find a can!!!!!!!!!! I add a little Texas Pete and BAM! I'm a happy girl!!!!!!!!!!! Anyone else a veggie drink addict? :-) — Karen K. (posted on December 30, 2002)

I crave tomato on a regular basis, have since early post-op. It's one of
the only things I truly crave. I wonder if it has to do with some sort of
difficiency. V-8, spagetti sauce, tomatoes...it's all good to me. -Kim open

Yep! me too. I make homemade salsa, Tomatoes, onions, celantro, and
peppers, and I eat it by the spoonfuls, plain, out of the bowl. But a V-8
will do to!!!!

i always feel if the craving is that strong its got something you need in
it! Enjoy, I love it and my nutritionist recommended I try and get in at
least 1/2 a cup per day.

I crave V-8 still, but not as much as during the first
few months. It is a great post-op drink, filled with vitamins
and potassium and even salt. Yes you may need additional salt
especially during the first few months.
Drink up and enjoy. Good luck.

My wife buys the stuff by the half-gallon and I go through it like water.
I know there's a lot of sodium in it but it tastes awesome! I guess we're
allowed at least one vice! - Mike

I started drinking V8 on Tuesday after my surgery on Thursday and now, 13
months later, I still drink it. I have always liked it but I literally
lived on it for the week I was on full liquids. It was the only thing that
tasted good to me. And now, if I get nauseated, V8 will calm my tummy. I
know that sounds weird but it's true. My surgeon says if it tastes good
and you want it, go for it. So I do.
