Question:
Question regarding swelling post-op, and clothing size reduction

I have some general questions for any post-ops who have had abdomnioplasty and liposuction; generally, how long did your swelling last? generally, how many sizes did you lose after having had surgery? generally, how long was it before being able to see the true results? Unfortunately, my surgeon is a genious, an artist as a surgeon, but he has no bed-side manner and did not answer any questions about what to expect after the actual surgery. I would like to know as much post-op about swelling and such, as possible.    — twenc (posted on December 17, 2002)

Toni, I had an abdominoplasty, no lipo. I looked at the log I kept & it was just about 6 weeks til the swelling was gone & I began to drop below my pre-TT measurements. After my TT, my weight loss really began again. I lost about 25 more pounds and 3 inches from my waist, and 4 inches from my hips. I went from size 14 pants to mostly size 10, a few 12s, and even one pair of size 8.
