I get e-mails about it also....I want to know who is sending them...I do not like unsolicited e-mails about products people are selling. There are people here that selling vitamins and such and DO NOT pester people, they can simply advertise throught their own web page. I really wish there was a way to stop people from doing this....

I have been taking Real Meals since I was about 4 weeks post op. It has worked really well for me. It is the only protein drink made that has 60 grams of protein, plus over 40 other vitamins and nutrients. It even has biotin to help prevent hair loss and lean muscle stimulators to help prevent sagging skin. Before I tried Real Meals I had tried just about everything they had at GNC. I spent a fortune and most of the stuff I couldn't even get down. This stuff actually tastes good. It is almost like a sweet treat for me. So far I have lost 93 pounds as of today, I still have all of my hair, and I don't have any sagging skin. My stomach is a little squishy but I have also had four kids.

I don't know anything about the Real Meals protein supp but we RNYers only absorb about 30 grams of protein at a time, so the 60 gram per serving sounds like you would be wasting 30 grams of protein unless you drink it half at a time. I use Designer Whey protein powder. It tastes GREAT and I've tried PLENTY. It has 17grams protein per scoop and I have a scoop every morning in a cup of milk with 1/2 packet of equal. This gives me 25 grams of protein and it tastes just like chocolate milk. You can also mix it in water. A real cheap site to order it from is http://store.yahoo.com/esupp/designerwhey.html. You can also order samples of different flavors from vitalady.com

I don't have any financial ties to the company, and Real Meals is not my product. Like everyone else here I had tried numerous different protein and vitamin supplements only to end up throwing them out. When I found this new product it it was perfect for me. I took the inititive to contact the manufacturer and research this product for Gastric Bypass patients. I was impressed by what I found. It had not only the protein but also everything else I was looking for. The manufacturer was the same person that had pioneered the technology to create most of the protein supplements available. I volunteered myself to be their test case in exchange for discounts for all of us post ops and donations to gastric bypass research. Real Meals is available at some GNC's and health/vitamin stores at full MSRP, not only the website that I recommend. There are a lot of people that post here what works best for them I believe that is the pupose of this. That doesn't mean that they are financially tied to GNC or vitalady.com. I realize that us post ops only absorb 30 grams at a time. I split it into two 4 ounce shakes per day. That has worked well for me because it is still difficult for me to drink 16 ounces at once. I believe the purpose of this site is to share our expeiences and what works best for us. And also to support each other, that is what I have tried to do. Apparently someone has gotten offened by that, however, I have many more people that have thanked me.

I ordered the 4 sample pack of Real Meals & found it to be very very sweet. I didn't taste like chocolate milk to me, but it could be that my tastes have changed. I'll stick to Designer Whey Protein.

Just a comment on this. I do not work for Real Meals either, but HANDS DOWn, it is the BEST protein drink out there. Designer Whey, when mixed, is extremely thick and I know for me, and the six other friends I have that have had this surgery, is IMPOSSIBLE to get down. "Real Meals" is very thin and easy to drink. Definitely only drink half at a time b/c it does contain 60 grams of protein. As some of you said, we can only absorb 30 at a time. Designer Whey (I still have a big ol' canister of it) has only about half the protein in 8 oz. mixed and is much more thick. I can drink 8 oz of "Real Meals" in about 10 minutes. Designer Whey took me about 30 minutes. Also, some people might not think Real Meals tastes EXACTLY like chocolate milk, but one thing is for sure. It has a much "lighter" "whey" taste to it then Designer Whey. None of the seven of us (my friends) who had this surgery this past year are drinking Designer Whey. All seven of us drink "Real Meals". That's pretty good odds. The sample pack is something like 5 or 10 dollars plus shipping online.
