Question:
Are Cream Soup Liquid Diet Food?
PART OF THE LIQUID DIET OR SOFT FOOD STAGE? ARE THE SPARKLING DRINKS AT WALMART (SUGAR/FAT FREE) CARBONATED? DOES ANYONE DRINK THESE? — nikki R. (posted on July 23, 2002)

Yes, the Sparkling fruit drinks are carbonated. A better choice would be
Fruit 2 O drinks found at Sam's club, Target and some Walmarts.

Yes, cream soups are part of both the liquid and pureed diet phases.
However, our program recommends that you strain the soup. I think it's
particularly important to strain on the liquid phase. I loved cream of
chicken soup the first few days I was on full liquids! As far as the
sparkling water, I haven't tried it but I believe sparkling indicates that
it is indeed carbonated, and therefore a no-no. Good Luck - Anna

Helpful tip on straining: buy a strainer in the bar supplies section of
your local supermarket (or at Wal-Mart). They work perfectly since they
have a finer mesh screen. Just pour in a small amount at a time since it's
a smaller strainer.

I would say the cream soups would be fine. At least I did it with no
problems. Hopefully you won't be latose intolerant. As far as the Sparkling
water at Wal-Mart THEY ARE INDEED CARBONATED! I know that for a fact. Fruit
20 is good, and even better is Adirandack Spring Water (that has MANY
flavors). I love their lemom much better than Fruit 20's lemon. Also I got
something the other day called Vermont Pure Essence Spring Water. I tried
the peach mango. It is good, but the flavor is VERY faint. These are all
sugar free.
