Question:
What is revision?
I had the gastro by pass with the y something or the other about 3 years ago, I still need to lose about 75 lbs, can I have the proceedure done again? What can I do to lose the weight? — Phyllis L. (posted on May 28, 2002)

I am not sure about revision with another RNY (Roux-en-y), but I had
Vertical banded gastroplasty and have regained all the weight within 10
years. I am now starting the process for RNY. Check with the doc who did
your RNY to see if they do revisions. I hope this helps some, Good luck.

I had banding done 10 yrs ago, and it had gained back all my weight and
then some. I had a revision of my banding with an Open RNY 4/10/02. I am
not sure about revising a RNY, I would consult your physician.

I know someone who had the Fobi pouch (very much like the RNY), and then
had a revision 5 years later. What they do is bypass more intestine to
promote MORE malabsorption. Talk to your surgeon, perhaps there is a
non-surgical method to jump-start your weight loss again! Good luck to
you!
