Question:
Plastic surgery for bat wings or Panni first?

My plan was to have the panni done first, but my daughter suggested that I will have trouble getting into smaller sizes because of my arms. I don't plan on a sleaveless life, but I don't want to wear larger clothes just to accomodate my arms. My thighs are just as bad, but I don't wear pants.    — [Anonymous] (posted on January 28, 2002)

Why not both at the same time? I have seen a lot of posts where people have 2 done at once to save money.

In my opinion, it would be better to have the panny first so it would enable you to walk and exercise a lot easier. Good Luck Carol

I had my panni and armlift done at the same time, 8 weeks ago. My insurance paid for both, and I only had to undergo one general anesthesia. It was a five hour procedure and, happily, one of the least painful surgeries that I have ever had...I was ready to go home the next morning. Good luck!

Since I decided to have a belt lipectomy instead of just the panni, doing both at the same time wasn't an option. I also had very large amounts of skin on the sides, i.e. the love handles. I decided to do the arms and sides first, figuring it was more "normal" for a woman to be larger on the bottom than on top. The doctor removed 1 pound from each arm, and 2 lbs from each side. I went down 2 sizes on top, and was able to wear sleeveless shirts this summer. Wearing skirts, etc, I was really able to conceal the difference in size between top and bottom.
