Question:
Am I able to eat to much?

Hey, I need some help. My sister is 9 days out and is doing great. However, today we have notice that she seems to be able to consume to her alot of food at one sitting. We went to Wendy's and she was able to eat a small chili with no problems. Is this normal??? She is afraid that her pouch is to big or the surgery's not going to work for her. It is according to how slow she ate and how well she chewed her food. I am not sure I was doing chili at 9 days but I know I could eat it soon after. If you drain all the liquid off there is not much solid food left in one.

To me it seems like alot to be able to eat a small chili at 9 days out. I don't know about Wendy's chili, but at 5 months out, I can still only eat about a half of cup of chili. Everyone is different, so I am sure you will get many answers to your questions/.

I am 3 months post-op and can only eat 1/2 of a small Wendy's chili. If I ate very slow, maybe an hour, I could probally finish a whole small. Maybe she should check with her doctor. **kelly

I believe that there is alot of luquid in the chili and not much solid food. If it took her a long time then she really should not worry. The only thing is that at 9 days out I could have never eaten that. Good Luck to her!

Sherrie, my only concern would be is she SUPPOSED to be eating Chili yet? I know every doctor is different, but, i think MOST don't allow meat till at least 3 wks maybe longer. Here pouch is still swollen and she should probably be on puree or liquids. I would ask the dtr or better yet the Nutrionist. Good Luck to her. Heather (Open RNY 8/15/02 - 305/214/150)

Seems odd to me that her dr let's her have chili at 9 days out...but all dr's are different. As far as the amount...I am almost 10 months post op...I can only eat around half of a small chili from Wendy's.....
