Question:
I need to know of a good potassium supplement I can take in a pill form
I am having to take K-lyte. It is terrible. It upsets my stomach and also hurts my stomach. — Lisa E. (posted on April 25, 2002)

You should be able to find just a regular potassium supplement at a
pharmacy. I take it (even before WLS) because of low potassium levels. Also
you may want to use a salt substitute made of potassium cloride (like
no-salt). It contains substancial amount of Potassium that you can add to
food.

Lisa, if you're experiencing leg cramps or your lab work shows that your
levels are low, your physician should be able to prescribe a supplement in
pill form. Mine did after I'd complained of leg cramps. The ones I take
are coated, so I get no stomach upset, and since insurance covers them, I
pay only a $5.00 a month co-pay for a 30 day supply.

Micro-K is a great capsule that one can take post-op.
