Question:
I need a comprehensive list of foods for the first 6-8 weeks for RNY.
My surgeon's office only give short small lists of examples of what to have for the first 6-8 weeks prior to surgery. The nutritionist will meet me in the hospital to give the rest, (I think). Is there a website I could find, or if perhaps some of you have posts and entire list on your profile? Basically a one stop list. In the library, there is a little here and a little there, but nothing comprehensive in one area. Thank you very much. My surgery is in less than a month now, and I would like to do my shopping now, rather than send my husband out later. (He doesn't know how to read labels). :) Annie — Annie R. Go to http://www.surgcliniccentar.com/ and click on Post-surgery Diet.
You'll find lists of foods and sample menus.

Don't buy too much of anything. You may not like it, may not be able to
tolerate it, may not need it, etc. Plus, you cannot eat much anyway. All
surgeon's are different, and I was on REGULAR food at two weeks post op
RNY. Some surgeon's don't do protein supplements either. Get some skim
milk powder, some creamed soups (cream of potatoe, cream of chicken, cream
of mushroom), get some sugar free pudding packages, some broth, maybe some
canned refried beans. When you get home, the hubby can get you some sugar
free pudding. Don't stock up on much or you may overspend or waste money.
Best wishes.
