Costco has a protein shake mix now. Comes in chocolate and vanilla. I have not tried it but others have said it was good.

The Costco ones are OK and pretty inexpensive. IMHO, the chocholate is good and the vanilla is TERRIBLE - you really taste the whey protein taste on that one. That said, I liked the chocholate one pre op, but now post op I HATE IT.... but I'm having trouble with all shakes!

My main protein is Optimum Nutrition's 100% Whey Protein...chocolate. I buy it online in 10# bags for $47.99 = $4.95s/h. Each bag of chocolate has 155 servings (23g protein) and ends up costing 34 cents per serving. Now the $100 question....will you like it? I know GNC carries it...it's quite expensive there but, you could try it and if you didn't like it I think you can bring it back. Hope that helps some....good luck on your protein quest.

My main liquid protein source is Designer Whey Protein Blast bottled drinks. They're available at GNC and at Harris Teeter grocery stores in my area. I like the orange, the kiwi, and one called asbury ice. They aren't really cheap though since they are about $2.99 per 16 oz. bottle but since I'm saving TONS on food, I don't mind paying that. I have one per day now that I'm on solid foods. My niece also recommended Carb Solutions which is available at WalMart but I haven't tried that yet. Tried one of their protein bars and it was NASTY.

Hello. I don't use protein drinks but at the beginning my nutritionist had us adding non-fat dry milk to carnation instant breakfast. She said the dry milk was as good as protien mixes and much cheaper. We were supposed to have 1 packet of carnation instant breakfast (no sugar added, blue box) and mix one cup of skim milk and 1/4 cup of dry milk. For the whole glass it is about 200 calories and 18 grams of protein. If you like chocolate milk you might want to try it. The Carnation instant breakfast you can get at giant eagle for about $5.00 and you can get the dry milk at one of the cheaper stores like Aldi's or Save-a-lot. Good Luck.
