Question:
I have diagnoised with H.Pylori again

Since my surgery I was told Pepto Bismol was a nono medication for gastric Bypass patients. Does anyone know why? My gasterologist wanted to add this with my treatment meds I am guessing to prevent stomach upset with the antibiotics.    — nccarolinagirl (posted on May 5, 2003)

It contains asprin - which is why kids should not be given it either.

Ask your doctor is carafate (sp?)is acceptable. It is a non-aspirin based pepto bismol type product. Our patients use it as they would pepto bismol. Best wishes to you!
