Question:
Paxil & Phenobarbital
I'm currently taking Paxil for depression and Phenobarbital for epilepsy. I was wondering if any of my amos brothers and sisters have dealt with these drugs before surgery; and, how were your dosages affected after surgery. — lorien (posted on April 19, 2003)

I'm just 2 weeks post op. I have been taking 20 mg. of Paxil and there
hasn't been a need to change the dosage yet. However, strangely enough,
just one week out, I had to discontinue my BP meds (BP appears to be normal
now .. per my PCP) I think it's a good idea to keep in regular contact
with your Dr. to monitor things. Your body will be going through some
changes and it's needs will change as well. Good luck!

I take Prozac, Neurontin, and Fioricet (which contains a barbituate) and I
haven't had to adjust my dosages yet. I'm 4 months post, down 50lbs. I also
take Zyrtec, Singulair, Flexiril, and some other stuff that I can't think
of right now. ;) No dosage changes for any of them, and I tolerate them
the same.
