Question:
i need help! How do you reset your
I am over 2 months post-op. I dumped on sugar for the first 3 weeks. Now i don't dump at all on atleast 20 grams of sugar. i drink milk everyday, and hard candy was my favorite pre-op and have treated myself sometimes to it recently. i have lost 47 pounds so far and am proud of myself, but am in a week plateau and believe it has something to do with the sugar. I don't want to set myself up for failure so soon, I have done so well with everything else and developed pretty good eating habits everywhere else. Is there anyway I can make myself dump again? thanks! — Lezlie Y. (posted on August 4, 2002)

READ LABELS. Start with milk. Learn to read the serving size first. One of
our locals was drinking OJ like it was a safe food. She said, oh well, only
22g in the whole gallon. Um, not. That's 22g in one 8 oz glass. No sugar
added does not mean sugar free. When you ingest small portions of sugar on
a constant basis, you gradually increase your tolerance til it takes larger
& larger grams to make you ill. I've done it myself, and it's cost me a
few lbs every time I've done it. If I start actually acknowledging what the
labels say, insteada pushing the limits, you can reset your dump-o-meter.
As close to 0g of sugar as you can for 2 weeks shoudl do it, but I know
even the first 3 days helps. At 8 yrs, you'd think I'd be a WHOLE lot
smarter than I am, huh? But there it is, you get talking and eating, eating
& talking and first thing you know, you're doing what normies do,
popping this or that in. However, my body doesn't react like theirs, so
with sugar, it's lips to hips, no digestion required
