Why does my name and complete address show up on GOOGLE under
This is a direct violation of my privacy. I just today changed my name on this site. What a direct violation of the supposed "privacy" from www.obesityhelp.com! — gailcatss (posted on April 2, 2005)

why in the name of heaven would you think you have any kind of privacy when
you post your info on a website that can be accessed from virtually
anywhere in the world by any one who has a computer and internet access?
seriously now!
that is why I don't use my real name.

Anytime you post anywhere on a public site you can be googled. I agree
with willow, why on earth would you think it is a violation of your
privacy?

I think what she is, and what I would be, concerned about is that her
address, which OH says they will never give out, is being displayed
someplace on this site. I too would fee it would be a violation of my
privacy if OH made my address available for a search engine when they said
that address information is 'never displayed on the internet'.

AMOS MOD NOTE: Her address should of NEVER shown up publically here unless
she voluntarily posted it, which is discouraged.I remove posts with
addresses and espically phone numbers, since a reverse lookup can give
someone your address. just exactly where did OH post her address
publically?

Your name can come from many place, telephone directories etc and also any
other websites etc.

Where is OH practicing informed consent? Where are OH members adequately
forewarned that whatever they write will be open to the public? It is more
than possible for a site like OH to protect their members. They are not
protecting members. Where is OH's integrity? Any moral compass? what about
ethics? Quit defending something that is wrong. It ain't that hard for OH
to prevent this breach.
