Question:
Can we use Vicks products post op
Hi! I am almost 2 years post op so I should know this but I have the flu. Can we use those white tubes made by Vicks that you put by your nose and breath it in. The menthol helps with you breath easier. I am so afraid to use certain medications since I developed 2 bleeding ulcers from taking Motrin. Thanks - Tracy — tracyr (posted on December 15, 2003)

Tracy, There's no reason why you can't take it. I'm 6weeks out and have a
lot of allergies and have been using it for the last 3 weeks also the vicks
ointment too. Happy breathing:)--Jennifer

Good question. Here's another one, slightly related. Does anyone know if we
can take anything like Nyquil if we should come down with a cold or the
flu?

I have used nyquil on a few occasions since surgery with no problems. I
would take a child's dose first and see what happens, since it does have
alcohol in it.

the nose stuff and the goopey stuff are both A-OK for postops. No nsaids
and nothing ingested - and no sugar :>) nyquil throws me for a loop
(the alcohol - not the sugar) but others seem to do fine on it. I prefer
dimatapp. I don't even dump on the sugar from it. I suggest you buy the
smallest bottles of whatever you want to try and give it a shot. Good
luck!
