Question:
Can protein supps be warmed up
I am still pre-op (24 more days) I bought some unflavored protein, and want to add it to different foods to up the protein. Is it ok to add to soups, and scrambled eggs that are hot??? I don't want to ruin the protein!!! — jennap (posted on July 30, 2003)

Yes! It is very common to mix the protein supplements with food, or drinks
and they can be hot or cold. I made a scrambled egg today matter of fact
with my Jarrows protein! Didn't taste too bad either :)

too high of heat breaks down the protein so it's not usable. You can ADD
it to hot foods (so long as they are not boiling), but it's recommended
that you do not cook it into the food.

depends on the type of protien, some are made to add to hot foods others
recomend never doing that!

Soy is more forgiving than whey. The ony whey I know that can be added to
hot foods is ProCel (& its companion UpCal D PLUS). Cannot be boiled,
but can be mixed into hot foods or tea, for example. The other whey
products really need to be kept more like hot tap water

hiya~ you will notice with your whey proteins, that if the liquid is too
hot then the powder will not mix in but will just kind of "ball
up" -- it may not even be boiling temp!
some powders are made to be cooked with like the jarrows soy protein.

soy protien ..but i dont like it so much..doesnt mix as well as the whey...
