Question:
Can I have my gallbladder removed during a tummy tuck?

I know this is a question for my plastic surgeon. However, I'm here posing it to you folks for now. Pending insurance approval I am scheduled for an extended abdominoplasty w/panni removal and brachioplasty on June 30th. But now my gallbladder is acting up. Recent ultrasound shows it's going to need to come out, according to my WLS. Can my plastic surgeon or a general surgeon/associate of his, remove my gallbladder at the same time? The WLS and plastic surgeon are over 3 hours apart from one another, so can't be them together. Plus my WLS is kinda pouting because I won't let him just do a panni removal on me, I want an actual tummy tuck! Appreciate any feedback you have - Anna    — Anna L. (posted on May 30, 2003)

yes, I had my galbladder taken out when they did my hernia and tummy tuck. The same doctor who did my original by-pass did the operation/
