Question:
Does anyone else take carbonyl iron? If so, how much?
I am waiting for some lab results but feel my iron and/or B12 may be low as I'm low on energy. Vitalady mentioned in another post I made about chelated iron that I may need to increase the dose of carbonyl? If so, how much? I currently take only the recommended dose of 2 tablets, which equals 50mg of carbonyl iron. It does make sense now that I actually think about it, to take a bit more than recommended since we malabsorb. Does anyone take a prescription iron that's easy on the tummy and non-constipating? Appreciate any feedback! Thanks - Anna LAP RNY 7/3/02 -117lbs. — Anna L. (posted on March 9, 2003)

If you take the iron with chewable vitamin C, you'll absorb more. Or find
an iron with vitamin C added.

Thanks Debbie. But I do follow the iron rules, as Vitalady calls them :) I
take it with 500mg Ester C, never with caffeine or with calcium. I take
first thing in the a.m. with sugar free Tang actually!
