Question:
How many multivitamins should I take a day?

I will be 6 months post op on June 20th. About 2 weeks ago I started taking a regular multivitamin instead of 2 childrens chewable a day. My question is should I take one a day of the regular multivitamin or 2 like I did with the children's chewable? Thanks in advance - Tracy    — tracyr (posted on June 11, 2002)

The directions on the bottle of childrens vitamins should read that two chewables is the correct dosage for adults. The directions on the bottle of regular vitamins should read one tablet is the adult dosage. I don't think that I would take two of the tablets without consulting the Dr. first. You can take too much -even with witamins!! Good luck and God Bless!

When my surgeon switched me from chewables to the regular multi's, I got home and was confused whether to take 1 or 2. I did find out that I should take two. But I also have problems with my iron, and you can't OD on 2 multi's, especially because we malabsorb. Ask your surgeon or nutritionist what they recommend.
