Question:
Anyone had TT & Breast lift at the same time?

I was just recently approved for a TT, since I knew my insurance co. would not pay for the breast lift, I asked the surgeon's office how much it would be for me to pay to have the breast lift at the same time...thinking reduced cost to me splitting the operating room fees etc. and only one recovery period...they told me my surgeon would not do the procedures together, and the cost of the breast lift would be $8500!!! I can't afford this so I'm considering going to Canada, where due to the exchange rate and their reduced health costs it would only cost me $4000..but I don't feel comfortable going away from home! I really like my surgeon and like the hospital where the procedures are done...should I push the surgeon to reconsider? I wasn't given a real good reason as to why she doesn't do them together...has anyone heard why a surgeon would't? Those of you that had them done at the same time, what was your experience? Thanks for your help!!    — DolcezzaVT (posted on May 16, 2002)

Some surgeons will not go a TT with any other operation. Mostly because of the time it requires. My surgeon, however, has said that he would do my TT and thighs at the same time. I have heard of lots of surgeons doing TT and breast at the same time though. Also I am in OK and my surgeon gave me a quote of less than $4,000 for implants and lift on my breast. And he has a very good reputation.

Another Okie here, but I just saw a plastic surgeon on Monday and he told me he could do the TT, Breast implants/lift, thigh lift all at the same time. He said it would be painful but it could be done. Also I had a friend that just had a TT and breast implants and he charged her $4500 for both because she did have them done at the same time. Really I think it depends on the surgeon.

Ahh, I feel so wise, having undergone both procedures on Monday. And they fixed a couple more hernias while they were in there. I ended up with a fat lip because of the endotrachial tube pressing on my lip for 8 hours and my hemoglobin dropped to 5.9, requiring two units of blood, but other than that, I feel mighty fine. Also, my insurance paid for both since I had lost over 100 pounds and they were taking at least 500grams from each boob. I kind of feel like Rosie O'Donnell now in the boob department, but to be quite frank, I am loving the look and freedom of now having floppy pendulums all over the front of me. I can't WAIT for her to do my arms and legs so they will look more like the rest of my body. Well, I am tired, so I am heading to bed for a nap!!! Those midnight nurses are a real pain in the tookus! Thanks to all you who sent your prayers and well wishes!
