Question:
How do I check my B-12 levels?
I had blood work done last week for the first time post-op (8 weeks). I did not see B-12 on the test results. Is B-12 something that they need to test specifically for or is it called something else on the results? — barbpatter (posted on September 23, 2001)

The stuff you want to read and keep on file is the stuff you can easily
read: total protein, albumin, iron, zinc,B12, A, D, potassium, magnesium,
cholesterol--all the stuff you can read is listed under easy names. So,
your test was not complete. B12 is easy & cheap, usually have results
the next day.

The doctor would have to specifically order a Vitamin B12 level.

You have to get a blood test. If you are worried, call your doc.
