Question:
Staple line disrupture

I was diagnosed with staple line disrupture and BC/BS denied a repair/revision. What actions can I take as I don't want to gain back the 160 pounds I lost. I already gained 15 pounds back.    — Babsweco (posted on April 25, 2004)

Did they say why they denied you? Appeal. But find out why, I had to have a 'correction' I didnt call it a revision but at first Aetna was going to have me 're qualify' which I would NEVER qualify I called the nurse personally and explained what was going on... May they misread and thought you wanted a redo - and you dont 'qualify' ie weight ex let them KNOW or at least find out that they KNOW its a correction ! good luck

Ya, repair and revision are two different things. I had to have a 'repair' and didn't even need authorization. It was UHC, but same situation.
