Question:
7 days post-op can I drink decaf iced tea artificial sweetner?
Like equal or splenda. It seem to be the only think I'm craving. Right now I'm on a full liquid diet. I have been diluting my juice and I have only been eating sugar free foods. Please advise. — Jamie D. (posted on April 2, 2003)

Unless there is some reason why your doctor says you can't have it, I don't
see what it would hurt. I drank regular tea when I was a week post, with
artificial sweetener. I lived! ;)

I also lived on regular tea and used the sweet n low liquid drops, still
drink it everyday! Also, try the SF popcicles and fudgecicles! Good luc! (6

I did the regular tea myself with artifical sweetener. Nobody said it
wasn't part of the liquid diet and it was listed on my sheet from the
nutrionist as suggestions. They probably would prefer you drank the decaf
but I already had the other on hand. I'm doing fine.

Hi, I'm almost 3 weeks post-op and was told by my nutrionist the caffein
irratates the lining of the stomach. And to stay away from it for a month
or two until you heal.

Debbie...if you are referring to the Jamie's question, she is asking about
DECAF iced tea.
<p>
Jamie...I have been drinking the Lipton Diet Decaf Iced Tea Mix with Lemon
since I got home from the hospital. Drinking that, I have had no trouble
in getting my fluids in each day...JR (open RNY 07/17/02 -167 pounds)

John, I understand that. I'm referring to the previous posters who are
talking about regular tea. So not sure what you're trying to tell me.
