Question:
Does anyone else have a regular waterbed?
How long was it befor you could get in and out of it without help or a lot of pain. I had a C-Section with my son and it wasn't too bad but if I have to have an open procedure I would imagine that it will be a lot more painful this time around. — Deb F. (posted on August 15, 2002)

I had one for my original sx in 1994. Because I could barely get in &
out pre-op, I slept in the guest room (formerly kid room) on a fairly firm
mattress. The bed frame was also easy to grab to pull up & down. I
stayed there for at least a week, but I forget how many actual days. I was
a basket case pre-op, so that probably had some bearing. When I was revised
in 2000, I was not heavy, so spent only a night or two on the couch (more
comfy for some reason) and then slept in the bed.

I have slept on a waterbed for almost 17 years now. I had an open RNY on
JUne 20, came home on the 24th, and it was probably about a week in a
regular bed. When I was able to tolerate sleeping on my side, it made it
much easier to get out of the waterbed.
