When a revision to the surgery is needed, what kinds of insurance problems may arise.

Depends on WHY you need revision. Intact surgery, but complete regain? Mechanical failure of old surgery? And the other portion is your actual ins co. Mine granted my "repair" to staple line in a matter of moments. BEFORE I was forced to regain all the wt.

My insurance company tried to fight my revision to RNY because they had paid for my original VBG and supposedly had a "one WLS surgery only" rule. My doctor's office appealed and won because this was a mechanical failure of the original surgery (I lost my ring, rendering my VBG ineffective). It was a long battle but very well worth it.
