Question:
will my taste ever get back to normal??
I am almost 10 weeks post op. I seem to be able to tolerate everything I have eaten so far. My problem is that my tastes have changed so much that I literally don't like much of anything anymore. All my favorite foods taste like crap to me. I am getting sick of eating the same old things because I just don't like anything anymore. Is this temporary or a forever type thing??? — Kim B. Hi Kim, I know just what you mean. Many of the foods I loved pre-op, I
don't like now. It goes the other way too, though. I have tried many of
the Healthy Choice, Lean Cuisine, etc. small meals that I wouldn't have
eaten before and they really taste good now. I just eat the protein and a
little bit of the veggies but they have added variety to my meals. Like
you, I was getting really sick of the same foods over and over. This whole
new life is a learning experience and we have to make it fun.

It's temporary....unfortunately! Enjoy it while it lasts, as this is when
you'll lose the most weight.

Enjoy it whle it lasts, ketosis causes this and it goes away too fast.

I thought it was horrible, but I sure wish I had that problem again. You
will lose weight easy now. When your taste buds come back into enjoying
food, watch out!

yes, your taste will come back. I had the same "problem" only
everything also smelled sooooooo bad. Tap water smelled like it had just
been freshly dipped out of a dirty fish bowel! It tasted that way too.
Everything was soooooo YUK! Up till about 3 months.............then, as
Celine Dion said "It's All Coming Back to me now....." LOL
