Question:
I know this has been asked, but I need some ideas on getting protein in...
Yogurt, cheese, and cottage cheese make me gag just taking them out of the fridge. What should I eat?! I've gone to the store a million times already and nothing looks good. Are there any GOOD tasting protein bars out there????? HELP!!! — Paula Prichard (posted on February 18, 2002)

I found a protein bar at Wal-Mart that tastes pretty darn good. It is
called EAS ADVANT EDGE. I like the bluberry and the cookie&cream is
really good tasting. The lemon cheesecake flavor is not too bad. They are
1.50 each. Also at Wal-Mart, they have carb solutions protein drink powder
that is pretty good. The bars have 24 g of protein--2.5 g of carbs and 2 g
of sugar. Hope this helps.

Carb Solutions Protein powder Sucks!
I also bought a can from Walmart. I have tried whipping it with a hand
blender, as well as a regular blender. left it in the blender for 5
minutes, and it still was so chalky I could hardly drink it.
if you want a protein powder go with Zero carb Isopure from Nature's Best.
it mixes really well, and they have 3 different flavors, vanilla,
chocolate, and strawberry(I think). it is expensive (50bucks), but 1 3lb
can lasted me 1 1/2 months. I drank one shake in the morning for 25 grams
of protein, and counted on my food for the rest of the days protein.
remember you can only absorb about 30 grams of protein at a time, so 1
scoop of that stuff is 25 grams!
I got the vanilla kind, and mixed it with decalf coffee, and Suger free
chocolate syrup. It is a mocha Latte! (almost).
the only thing bad I have to say is it smells bad, but mixed into a Mocha
latte it is very good! hope that helps.

I had the same problem and finally found a pre-mixed drink that I love. It
is Atkins Creamy shakes, they come in vanilla, strawberry and chocolate. I
drink one every morning in place of breakfast. They taste like McDonald's
shakes to me. I usually get them at GNC; but our WalMart carries them also.

I am pre-op but I have been experimenting in the kitchen with high
protein stuff and here's 2 of my creations.

Mix sugar
free pudding w/ 2c skim milk and 2 scoops designer protein powder (vanilla)
= 4 half cup servings @ 97 calories and 13 grams of
protein

Yummy shake: 4oz skim milk,1/2 packet of
carnation instant breakfast & 1 scoop desiner protein powder = 168
calories and 23 grams protein

Hope this helps!!

Another Liquid Protein to try: Proteinex. You take it like cough medicine.
2 Tlbs =15 grams protein. Take it a few times a day. The taste is orange,
not delicious, but neither is cough medicine. It is tolerable and one
swallow and you are done. This is there website if you want to check it out
better. http://www.llorenspharm.com
