I went to their website www.vistavitamins.com yesterday. They don't have
the price listed yet so I emailed them. They said the price will be $65 for
a 2 month supply. Doesn't seem to bad.......The website has info but as of
yesterday, no info as to how to order them. I heard about these vitamins
back in July at a support group meeting. They really sounded super ! Very
conveinent and no guess work. From what I understand you can only order
them thru the website or your surgeons office......but that may have
changed by now. I do know they will not be sold in stores. They are for
gastric bypass patients only......

I had heard that Carnie Wilson was promoting a line of vitamins, but did
not know what they were called until reading your post. If you're
interested in vitamins especially for the gastric bypass patient, you might
also want to check out www.vita4life.com and
www.bariatricsupplementsystem.com. They both have monthly vitamin packages
specifically designed for WLS patients.

Do you have a list of their contents? In checking the web site, I see
pricing, but no nutritional data.

I am scheduled for surgery December 7, 2004, and for the past few months
reading everything I could get my hands on about gastric bypass. I ordered
the VistaVitams Chewable for pre and post-op. The flavor is good and they
recommend 5 tablets every day with food. Ingredients: Vitamin A (retinyl
palmitate) 10000 iu; Vitamin A (beta carotene) 5000 iu; C 200 mg; D 400 iu;
E 100 iu; Thiamin 10 mg; riboflavin 10 mg, niacin 32 mg, b6 10 mg; Folic
Acid 800 mcg; B12 150 mcg; biotin 300 mcg; pantothenic acid 20 mg; calcium
(as buffered calcium bis-glycinate chelate) 300 mg; iron (ferrous
bis-glycinate chelate) 18 mg; iodine 150 mcg; iodine 150 mcg; magnesium 200
mg; zinc 15 mg; selenium 50 mcg; copper .90 mg; manganese 2 mg; chromium
100 mcg; molybdenum 45 mcg; potassium 99 mg; boron 1.5 mg. That is directly
off the label. I like taking one tablet, even five times a day and chewing
it over swallowing a hand full of pills. I guess I'll know more after
surgery how my tummy will tolerate them. I ordered them through the
internet and they were here within a week.

I've looked into these vitamins as well and figured this area of the site
needed an update. They sound great!!!! They are specially
designed(patent) with a protein carrier for better absorption for WLS
patients. With the lesser cost of food we will now all pay anyone can
afford these supplements....and its a small price to pay...arent we all
doing this to get healthier. I purchasing them now and im pre op, my
surgery is 5/26/05. I have heard that the chewables are nasty but PEOPLE
they are supplements NOT food. I couldnt believe some of the complaints I
read, LOL but of animals we are huh, hehehehe. Keep you posted on how they
work.
