Question:
Do we (RNYers) absorb calcium fumarate?
All the searches I did on "fumarate" return results for FERROUS fumarate (a type of iron), not CALCIUM fumarate. The new Crystal Lite has this as one of the ingredients and claims that 8oz gives you 20% of your daily calcium. Is that true for a proximal RNY? Does good absorption of ferrous fumarate suggest good absorption of calcium fumarate? I kind of doubt it, but one can always hope, right? :-) — Julia M. (posted on November 30, 2001)
